This is snapshot of our performances all season - underpar by a long way....no one single player with maybe the exception of sterling early season is anywhere near the level they were at in previous seasons. People have blamed VAR/bad decsions/luck etc all season but that is jut ignoring/making excuses/refusal to see reality that we are smply nowhere near as good as the last two seasons.
Its a combination of a number of things:
1 Lots/nearly all players under performing -some of our outstanding players (KDB, Sterling, the two silvas, Kun Walker Ederson plus the missing Sane and Laporte) levels have dropped off.
2. A number of players who have been protected by those above constantly performing at higher levels/the very top are now being shown up to be exactly what they are - bang average....Mendy (and he is worse than bank average - Id say he isnt premiership quality), Gundogan, Mahrez Jesus are 4 that have even in the best days of the last two seasons been uestionable and have been helped by the outstanding players around them.
3. Pep has clearly changed the way we are attacking and it hasnt worked - we just arent a bg attacking threat at present - we are living off the last two seasons reputation and its still fresh in some fans minds but again if you look at the reality of the performances its now back to lots of possession but little end product.
Its now a question of top 4 place - not because of Liverpool or VAR or bias media - but because when you take the blinkers off and look at the football on show its simply not at the level it was - Summer needs an overhaul with a number of players (Mendy, Gundogan, Mahrez Jesus ) that should be definitely sold/got rid of and the club finally realsing that Kompany does need replacing as will Kun when he hangs up his boots and David Silva as well
