The benefit comes from all the good he does for team moral throughout the season. It's a sign of appreciation from Pep it has no negative consequences and despite him not playing in a decade he will still be better than any random kid in the academy.

I was expecting a few moans if he fucked up during the game but its unbelievable that people are moaning about Carson before he's even finished his warm up ffs.
