Pep is a professional footballer with a heart. Explanation, he knows youngsters need to know their place, bide their time and justify selection in a game that matters, he learns nothing from what is almost a meaningless friendly. Because he is a professional he knows the value of senior players who train every week without much hope of a game but still work hard for their wages. What's wrong with thanking them? If the juniors are any good they will get their chances.
