Newcastle (H) Post Match Thread

We seem to starting this season very slowly and are risking dropping bad points, which we did last week and could have done today.
 
Walker was good and the rest of the starting outfield players were bang average. Learn to look up and square, rather than shoot, and we’d have won games even more comfortably.
 
Please no more system changes. No team can live with this teams' 4-3-3 system with the fullbacks coming inside and hanging back to offer support. Not only is the team so much more cohesive and controlled and as such able to retain possession and maintain attacks, they can also press and win the ball back effectively as soon as they lose it. No more overlapping runs from mendy, just hang back to offer support like walker on the other side and leave the attackers to link with the midfielders and create chances like last season. The team broke the goals record last season with that system, I still don't get why pep decided to change and experiment with something else this season. I don't think they even had a single counter attack once the system reverted back to a 4-3-3
 
Has everyone bailed on the philosophy of the next pass? Few too many moments of selfishness...and not enough defense splitting passes (fern’s to aguero at the end the only one?).
 
poor but its the result that counts.

hopefully we will get back to at least somewhere near our level after the international break..Aguero, Silva will both get a rest...2 weeks of no games and KDB will be two weeks closer to a return as well

Unfortunately with the amount of internationals that we have Pep won't be able to use the two weeks to get the team going but hopefully the internationals might help to get some fitness and match sharpness back into players...lets just hope for no injuries as normally the internationals don't do us any favours in that sense.

Still think we should return to the back 4 formation that we used last year for the majority. We seems disjointed, defensively more vulnerable than last year and not as good going forward
