Newcastle Thread - 2023/24

Newcastle found out last night what we used to find out anytime we looked like upsetting the big boys.
It's strange just how quickly the Var bloke has been stood down.
To our Geordie posters I'll simply say just do the job in the last game and show the bent fucks you are here to stay.

One of our first away games at Bayern a 100% pen never given

Yeah, there are certain teams that Uefa are desperate to have in the knockout stages - Rags, Dippers, Barca, Real, Inter, PSG and another half dozen or so who are unlikely to get much further than being game fodder for Uefa's annointed.

The penalty decision last night (which I've only just seen) reminds me of every dumb decision we've seen over the years, beginning with the one given against Micah in the league cup at Anfield, through the fouls on David Silva and Micah (again!) in Munich and countless others. These were before the days of VAR, before the days of immediate reaction and I don't know whether the refs in those were fit to ref a world cup and a CL final but the ref last night dropped a real clanger. Of three conditions to be met to award a penalty he thought one had been met - the hand was in an "unnatural" position when he saw the replay! He considered that this nullified the fact that the contact with the hand was not deliberate or that the player was too close to get out of the way! In other words - "I'm under such pressure that I'll let someone get away with something that I'd better penalise ball to hand, like they did with Jack Grealish in the FA cup final. I can't tell my VAR colleague not to be so bloody stupid. After all he's UEFA's spy in the cab. And when you think of the two clubs involved ... One well in with UEFA... the other rich..."

The geordies must be furious and with every reason. They're being cheated just as we were for so long.

I was going to feel sorry for them being ripped off by a blatantly bent decision then I remembered that twat on youtube, the real geordie?? After his comments about City over the years I quickly change my mind. Ha Ha!! Now you know how City are treated!!!

What's got into the TV companies? I thought Newcastle games kicking off at 4.30 on a Sunday or at 8.00 on a week night were to be televised if they were away, preferably on the south coast or in London. This is the second time they have been allowed an 8.00pm kick off on a Saturday, and this one is at home!
