Newcastle Thread - 2023/24

some Barcodes fans on C4 News just now bleating about their new owners. I honestly think they don't know what they really want - they rejoiced when they got shot of Ashley and are now unhappy again.

I think the only thing that will work is if someone miraculously inherits the club and hands a Supporters Trust for free the ground, the squad and £2bn to spend further - even then they will find something to moan about - soz aboooot

I didn't see that, what were they moaning about?

Howe done terrific at Bournemouth with a shoestring budget and took a team flirting with relegation to champions league in a season. He's done a marvellous job and any talk of him getting the boot seems premature and so typically premier league style.

It seems English managers are sneered at amongst the media and football fans, when in reality only a handful of managers over the past few decades win medals. I don't think giving him the boot is going to turn water into wine.

There is still a huge project at the club it would be nice if he could see a lot of it though.

That's not to say he should be immune from criticism because the past few games I've done the same and questioned his subs and tactics.

Its still a learning curve for him. He's playing with the big boys now. I think he deserves his chance though

I agree 100%. He's done a great job and should not be under any pressure from anybody and I don't think he is from within the club. Criticism is fair enough and I do it myself at times because Howe is not perfect, none of us are.

The only time Howe should have is position reviewed is at the end of every season in the same way that I expect every area of the club to be reviewed.

Qualifying for any European competition is good enough this season in my opinion.

That war in Yemen that Saudis and UAE get slagged for?

1. The other side is backed by Iran. It's a proxy war.
2. As I read the other day, the UK (and the US no doubt!) are busily offering training and no doubt intelligence support.

The root of it is the global power struggle and we, the UK, are as much a part of it as anyone else. BTW, while it is tempting to slag off the Tories, I have absolutely no doubt that Labour will follow exactly the policy when in power. (The guy who might have changed things was Jeremy Corbyn, but we fucked him off as he was an 'extremist'.)

Look in the mirror to see a guilty party. We are all involved unless we are one of the 0.5% who want to radically change foreign policy.

The biggest critics of Saudi seems to be the mackems. The irony is that they actually make the bombs in Sunderland that kill people in Yemen and they make the engines right next door to the bomb factory for planes that drop the bombs yet since 07/10/2021 they have all suddenly become human rights activists.

To be fair if our club decided to host UAE friendlies I doubt many fans would be interested to attend and support them the way those geordies are, and I don't know any blue who defends the UAEs record on Yemen or human rights, we know not all is good about the country our owner is from and we know our country and the US are also ran by the batshit idiots and are no saints but cunts

I won't defend the UAE when it's wrong and also wouldn't use whataboutery to do so seen in the clip, that young lad in the saudi top is exhibiting the silly sportswashing term as they call it tbh, but then less than 5000 have turned up to watch it so just like us most Newcastle fans are not arsed about the owners country, just te investment in the club

but the protesters are also guitly of mass hypocrisy and double standards, as for the guardian a neo liberal pious bag of shite that is full of hipocrisy.

The kids in this video seem to have been set up by that twat Adam Pearson who is trying to get clicks for his YouTube channel which pays him. They’ve been really battered by most of our fans since that video was first shown.

A bunch of knackers do not represent the people of Newcastle.

The Newcastle fans are probably realising that just because you as a club, are rich beyond your wildest dreams doesn't automatically make you the greatest team in football, if you have no football plan to back it up .

I admire your allegiance and the nufc fans.. But I think Howe will be gone soon. Top 6 results and CL results will really really matter and when it looks like nufc are not getting CL football next season I think he'll be gone. If he lasts the season the owners will have done well not to have sacked him under the pressure he will get.

I hope they keep him, it takes time to grow a club the right way. Glad newcastle didnt go the PSG route.
