They don't understand how football supporters think. 99% aren't bothered how their success is gained. Especially when it's from a country that we have a very strong trading and full diplomatic relationship with.Agree, saying it won't be seen the same to the rest of the football world because of their owners.
Not shocked but still disappointed in that report.
You can’t get in anywhere.
The bars are too full, and have been all day.
The Tesco Express opposite SJP was closed by the police after full time.
Thanks for the congratulations.
Honestly, I cried at fulltime.
I was at a watch party in a bar in Newcastle for members of a Newcastle forum that I go on. The guy who set it up is a Newcastle fan from Chesterfield, his dad is a Sheffield United fan, and his parents came up with him.
His dad was consoling me as I cried both at half time, and full time.
After full time the first thing I did was call my stepdad who in hospital. He was the one who got me interested in football, last time we got to the final in 2023 I watched it with him. I thought that I had to share those moments with him.
I made sure he had credit on his TV to be able to watch it, as I did for the 2nd leg of the Arsenal match.
To think a week before the 2nd leg of the Arsenal match, we were asked by the Dr’s about what his wishes were, it’s relief that not only has pulled through and is on the mend, but he got to see us win something.
All of our fans know people who never did.
Honestly though, amazing, and nothing has sunk in yet.
By all rights the club should be on an upward trajectory, and you would think that we’ll go on to win more trophies, but there is no guarantee that it will happen, and we’ll savour this, no matter if it turns out to be our only one, or just the first one.
There won't be much celebration in Sunderland that's for sure. It’s the best thing that could have happened. Even GMB, who as a regular viewer I can say they rarely even report on sport, had to get the absolute full name of their owners in - and where they come from - rather than just highlight their first trophy in the entire lifetime of the presenters, and likely their parents too.
I’d also say that apart from people from Liverpool, Ireland and Scandinavia, everyone will celebrate Newcastle’s league cup win than liverpools now boring title win.
Well done, Toon.
Ok ok ;-)There won't be much celebration in Sunderland that's for sure.
Spot on - I was high in the gods above the Wembley Score Board when we won in the FA Cup in 2011 - I was literally speechless we'd FINALLY done it and won something after 35 years - I remember getting back to the coach and seeing the biggest blues I know literally crying their eyes out as they came across the car park after the gameHeartfelt congratulations. Most of us on this forum remember how we felt in 2011 winning for the first time in 35 years. That feeling of "oh my God we've finally done it" is hard to beat, and whatever happens over the next few years what you did yesterday will always be special. I'm sure you weren't following the match thread on this forum but it is very rare that the entire forum membership displays such a desire for one team to win in a game that neither features City nor the rags. We were all rooting for you.
You will never receive universal praise from all quarters no matter what you do, there will always be a few who can't wait to get their knives in your back. Haters gonna hate, and all that. My advice is, all that can wait. Enjoy today, as a fanbase you have earned it.
As you say, savour it.
The joy on the players and fans faces was wonderful to see , as was the misery on the scousers faces . Congratulations. You can’t get in anywhere.

That's it in a nutshell. So pleased for the Geordies and lapping up the cult's misery. The joy on the players and fans faces was wonderful to see , as was the misery on the scousers faces . Congratulations.

It actually felt ALMOST as good as us winning a trophy. Its been about 20 odd years since I've been able to say that. Well done Newcastle. That's it in a nutshell. So pleased for the Geordies and lapping up the cult's misery.

You never here any issues in the media when BAE systems and the like sell arms to Saudi.
Just the woke BBC trying to be the conscience of the masses and failing.
At the end of reporting on the George celebrations thay said that the rest of the football world wouldn't think it was a fairytale good ending due to their Saudi owners and sports washing. It came across as a dig and real sour grapes by the BBC.what have the bbc said?

I remember my dad and uncles donning their rosettes and setting off for Wembley for the cup final in 1955! And then they came home knowing the cup was on its way to Newcasle! They went back with the same rosettes the next year and watched Roy Paul lift the cup. Even after the dismal sixties we were back winning trophies in '68, back at Wembley in '69 and '70, and again in '76 before we entered the even more, much more, dismal times. And then came the most glittering of all times, but the 35 years between the league cup win of '76 and the FA cup win of 2011 is only half the time between 1955 and 2025 that some Newcastle fans have had to endure. And some geordies will have lived their lives and never seen their team win a trophy. So, I was delighted too to see Newcastle win it, especially against Liverpool in the final and Arsenal in the semi. And their fans were magnificent, though the "Blaydon Races" was not sung as lustily as in 1955!Spot on - I was high in the gods above the Wembley Score Board when we won in the FA Cup in 2011 - I was literally speechless we'd FINALLY done it and won something after 35 years - I remember getting back to the coach and seeing the biggest blues I know literally crying their eyes out as they came across the car park after the game
93:12 was an amazing day, but in someways even that won't ever trump that 2011 FA Cup Final for finally breaking down that invisible barrier.
All credit to Newcastle for finally getting their monkey off their back yesterday - like probably everyone on here, I'm well pleased for them!
Yes, this was on the news at one. I though it very ungenerous and partial and made no reference to FSG's poor record on sexual harassment and employment matters in general. At the end of reporting on the George celebrations thay said that the rest of the football world wouldn't think it was a fairytale good ending due to their Saudi owners and sports washing.
