Newcastle United (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Think the chances we created in first half and didn’t finish cost us. Should have been 3 up in my opinion although we didn’t start that well. Still, will take a point, never easy!

Fucking annoying day of football all around, but a draw at Newcastle isn't bad at all. We've got a very winnable run of games coming up now, time to go on a good run. These weekends always feel frustrating in the moment, but we're usually the ones who end up with the last laugh.

Time to go on a good run and most importantly for me, we need to get Foden starting in the 10 role and flying. We do that and things will mostly take care of themselves on the pitch.

Our midfield lacks physicality and athleticism, which was especially evident today. I also thought our strategy was pretty odd from the off - a controlling line up but pushing our CB up to the edge of their box, with Gvardiol also inverting. We felt quite exposed.

I'm not sure what the solution is but I'm surprised it hasn't involved Stones so far. I saw a shout for Foden as a b2b midfielder as he's apparently the most physical midfielder we have apart from Nunes...Personally think that's bollocks and would negate his strengths, but regardless I hope Pep has other ideas for playing energetic midfields.

Very slightly off side here but I was always under the impression that a football match consisted of 2 teams with 11 players from each team on the pitch. Not 11 players on the opposing team and City represented just by Rodri?

There will be 11 City players on the pitch for the rest of the season and they might miss Rodders but they will prevail and hopefully bring home the 5th in a row. :-)

Not seen the game as away on hols. Listened on club website and it seems it wasn't a pen, either side could have snatched it but a good point overall. Look on x and fans completely lost the plot.

Gordon is a legitimate rat.
Should have been red carded at The Etihad last season and booked for diving today. He's over the top of Eddie but makes sure his toe makes enough contact and then it's a triple salchow. I see the ref didn't emulate the guy who gave us a corner when Haaland was cleaned out the other week. And then VAR tells him to check it on the pitchside. Two levels of reffing without a doubt.
