Might be for numbers only, depending if Pep wants Haaland on the bench or left at home. Not a prayer that happens

Welp, considering the eds lineup is pretty much full tonight it seems like I will end up being very wrong!I think you may be the one getting a reality check ;-)
I would have thought that even the threat of Haaland and the other key first teamers on the bench would give Newcastle something to worry about. Even if ultimately we might not need themI would have thought they would have been travelling tomorrow. Do you know this or is it an opinion. Thanks. Makes sense to leave those that wont be playing behind rather than just sitting them on the bench. Can see Haaland and a few other possibly not travelling.
Not sure how we will get through the quarter final given the first team squad will be at the club World Cup?Another league cup win methinks. Whatsoever one's opinion about this tournament, I'd wish that a victory is on the cards for Pep and the boys tommorow.
Maybe something like this tomorrow:
Ortega
Lewis-Akanji-Gvardiol-Ake
Nunes-Phillips-Gomez
Foden-Alvarez-Doku
Grealish and Kova both get 35 mins in the 2nd half. Maybe some nice minutes for Bobb as well.
Haaland, Walker and Dias completely rested.

I would n't be complaining if that was our starting 11 and dependent on who Newcastle select could definitely give the Geordies a game.Guess we’ll have a better idea of the starting XI after we see what team the EDS put out tonight. Think we’ll go a bit stronger than others have suggested though, maybe something like this.
Ortega
Lewis
Akanji
Ake
Gomez
Phillips
Kovacic
Nunes
Grealish
Bobb
Doku
With someone playing as a false nine.
