Newcastle United (H) | FA Cup | Post Match Thread

We were good if not in first gear always.
they were wank, eddie howe is taking them nowhere.

Next up wembley, but first lets batter the tarquins in a fortnight

Good, controlled and fuss free performance to take us into the final and most important part of the season. Hopefully a few of the lads have tactical injuries and sit out the international break.. come on city!!

Controlled.performance from us, they offered very little and even when they did get forward we managed them well. Akanji and Gvardiol did very well and never really looked troubled.
Pleased to see both Kovacic and Rodri starting we looked a lot stronger defensively and they both provided drive going forward.
Foden played well, did caused them problems in the first half but faded second, would have liked to have seen Bobb earlier. Haaland looked really frustrated.

We're getting very good at pacing ourselves. We're now in a marathon of three competitions pretty much every season.
You can't go all out in a game like this. You get it won, and you coast for much of the second half, if the opposition isn't threatening you. That's how you stay very late in all competitions you're in.

I don’t understand the tactics. We’ve got two CB’s in Walker and Gvaridol playing more or less as wingers, the former not having an attacking bone in his body. Our striker needs service on top of that. Despite this highly conservative approach from Pep, we’re still conceding goals for fun—shoutout to Akanji and Foden, who I thought were brilliant. Doku as well.
“Peps highly conservative approach” you say, can I ask wtf are you talking about ?
