That was a proper performance. Best of the season by far.

Khusanov, Gonzalez, and Marmoush all fantastic.

Brilliant day all round. Never thought we'd fight that much harder than this Newcastle team.

From Ederson to Haaland and all the subs, all excellent.
 
Christ. What a performance.

Like a 2017-2019 attacking display, that. Fast, direct and players desperate to get forward as quickly as possible.

Perfectly displayed for the third goal, Nico played a quick free kick to set the attack rather than waiting around. Loved it.

Also having a steady ball dominant team, he's a tidy player who will contribute well enough there, it's just heavy pace and physical pressure he can't deal with and that's few and far between when dominating.
 
Great performance from the new recruits full stop but for me the most telling thing was Nico doing all the simple things well and looking so assured in his first full game. He reminded me of Gareth Barry one of the most underrated players we have had in the premier League era. I wanted us to buy Bruno from the Toon but after today I believe we have recruited a better and younger player to fill that void and I am delighted that we didn’t pay double for Guimaraes.
 
We have a structure again!

Gonzalez was supreme as the 6 today and that balanced the side beautifully.

No huge gaps helped Khusanov excel and even the much maligned Rico Lewis looked like a good footballer again.

Marmoush finished all his goals brilliantly and he may well limit KDB’s minutes for the rest of the season.

Savinho skinned Hall. He’ll be having nightmares tonight.

Hope Haaland is okay.

I’m a little behind in this thread as I just got in. Others have probably responded.
Both Khus and Nico were really good. Hard to say who was best. Khus really did well considering the opposition. He is very quick, strong and tenacious. He really could become a star.
Nico played quite deep. Maybe he can play further forward, but he looked like he was right at home. Very impressive. Looks to me like he could also play with Rodri as well as instead of him.
Newcastle were dire, Gordon may have well as been sat with me but don’t let that fool you. We were very good today.
 
i didn't hear our usual hey jude nah nah nah na city today.. missed a trick as geordies claiming its theirs when starting in the 80's we started it in '68
 
What a difference a proper CDM makes. Not only was Nico superb, his presence allowed Gundo and Phil to play their natural games

Marmoush obviously gets man of the match but special mention to Stones, Kushanov, Gvardiol and Savinho who tore Lewis Hall apart for the whole game

Also got to hold my hands up and admit I've been giving Rico pelters recently but today he was very very good
