Newcastle United (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

He looks and plays like a young Busquets I understand the comparisons now made by Xavi and the Barca board. He slows play down, always with his head up and press resistant. Doesn't need to run around. Walks and scans the play in front of him.
And all the while resembling a Sunday morning park player

Best performance of the season, superb first half. I'm stating the obvious but Marmoush, Savinho, Nico were superb.

Savinho tore Hall to pieces. I thought Khusanov was solid at the back with Stones having a great game too. Gundo displayed flashes of how we was in his prime.

Great day that.

Marmoush wil get all the plaudits, and rightly so.

However, Savinho following on from a very mature performance on Tuesday was also outstanding tonight.

Nobody let the side down, Khusanov has simply shrugged off that 5 minute opening against Chelsea and been hugely promising thereafter.

A team with legs / energy is the way forward for us, it might take until next season for pep 3.0 to be fully underway but today put a huge smile on my face.

Everyone played their part today, Stones looks fit as a fiddle and Gundo reminded us of what a good and clever player he is.

Big decisions for Pep to make come midweek.
There’s more than just promise to Khusanov. He looks the real fucking deal to me.

No.....in their own tiers.........a few got all moody when City lads winding them up. Cops dragged them out.

Towards 70 mins they had half disappeared. Supposed to be top loyal Geordies.

Giving them the empty seats shit back was satisfying.
So.e right wankers in their ranks. Mouthy when mob handed

I know it's only one game, but we might be building one of the best young squads in world football. Haaland, Savinho, Marmoush, Foden, Doku, Nico, Khusanov, Gvardiol, Lewis - and we still have Bobb to return and Reis to play! Then we also have Mcatee and Nico O'Reilly showing flashes that they can play at this level.

A couple more signings in the summer and we'll be challenging for the title next season. I hope we keep playing this kind of starting eleven for the rest of the season, it's exciting to see a new generation of city players coming through.

Thinking about new signings in the summer. I think we will revert to our trusted route as we have done in January. Young players aged between 19 and 23 that are currently under the radar but will become top players in the next few years. See Sane, Bernado, Ruben, Alvarez, Rodri, Jesus.

CITY! Tearing cockneys apart again!

Can anyone explain? I’m confused!
‘Geordies’

‘Scousers’

‘Brummies’

‘Cockneys’

…add as appropriate.

Newcastle haven’t scored at the Etihad for 8 years. The combined last 21 years of Etihad games against them is 59-6 on aggregate to City, ‘tearing GEORDIES apart AGAIN’ is the most apt one of the lot.
