I can't agree with the comments on here about how we should just accept what the PL say without question, the players can take it.

These players played in sweltering heat, past midnight which means today is lost, leaving just Friday for a day off?

Iv seen the PL move fixtures for liverpool and united why not for city?

I think it's quite shit from the PL tbh.

We just need to stay disciplined and get the ball to Haaland quicker and more frequently.
So not our way (for 10 years plus!) I think Haaland will just have to accept that he will be focused and ready for any ball that drops in the box, rebounds etc. aka Burnley goals. Trying to feed him quickly will lead to so much possession lost, their other CH will drop five yards deeper really quickly and mop up.... our gam is manipulating the opponents' fullbacks .....making them come in to protect central areas = then slide rule ball from us between CH and FB and any of our wide men run on, blind side of defender. For all that you need the ball at your feet, passing in front of their defense, manipulating their positioning before the slide rule ball is on..Haaland should just be a pick up the pieces poacher in our system

It's done with intention from the PL

I put down a draw. I'll feel better if we have Dias and Stones available. Newcastle have improved and look ready for the season now where we are still a little away from full fitness. Going to be a good game

Edit - Fuck, Stones is out. We need Dias at least

Tough one to call this... Toons look good and I think will be a threat this year, more so than Arsenal tbh and I'm quite surprised so few pundits (who know jack-all anyway) have them even in their top 6's. I'd take a draw now although a win would be great obviously...

With Stones out I wouldn’t be surprised to see Rico Lewis play and slot into the midfield as required. Akanji couldn’t do that last night and perhaps too early for Gvardiol

Agreed. I’d also be surprised if Gvardiol is fully fit anyway after that reducer on his ankle towards the end of the game last night. Horrendous challenge.

Wow, I don’t know about everyone else but I really feel we have way fewer back ups for our first 11 compared to last season. For example on Wednesday maybe had only one potential ”game changer” on the bench (Alvarez) . Our midfield feels much lighter than last season, with KdB out for months and if Bernie leaves too we are going to be 2 or 3 midfielders short, unless Philips can deliver which is so far has not been the case. Maybe I am panicking unduly??
