..............Ederson..............
Stones Dias Ake Gvardiol
........ Kovacic Rodri .........
Foden Bernardo Grealish
............. Haaland .............

I'd play a very conservative 1st half to get the measure of them.

They will be up for it after the momentum they got from ripping Villa apart. Isak will be hard to handle on counters. they have speed on the wings, and some serious physical power in the middle with Tonali, bruno, Joelinton.

We coming back late, after a tiring midweek away game, few players not fully fit, Stones nowhere near match fit imo even if fit to play.

I take any lucky win, 1-0, deflected shot in 98th minute.

they host Pool next weekend, that will be a good game too.

Pep will rotate after a tough game yesterday:

Ederson
Walker
Stones
Dias
Lewis
Rodri
Kovacic
Alvarez
Grealish
Bernardo
Haaland

Newcastle looked great at home against a piss-poor Aston Villa. Let's see how they are chasing the ball for 80 minutes.

Their defence has still got Dan Byrne in it! Get Stones, Diaz and Bernardo back and I'll still be confident - if we get 3 points again, that'll be an incredible end to the week.
I said a few pages back that I expect it to be an extremely tough game, Largely down to playing a very difficult game last night.

At the end of the day, Newcastle are coming to our patch, They are playing against the best team in Europe and will also know they are in for a seriously tough game.

I know we have KDB missing but we still have more than enough to beat Newcastle. I know you've mentioned Dan Burn in you're post, I think Kieran Trippier is the one to be got at. Grealish gave him the absolute runaround last year and and year before that. We can expose their full backs big time.

It will be tough. But we will win this game.

Tougher than it should be due to the schedule. Anyway, get the game won and then a good full weeks rest and prep for Sheff Utd.

It'll be a slog this. Can see a draw or a very tight 2-1 City win.

Newcastle are no joke and its gonna take our best to secure a win. Were gonna need Dias back in defence at the very least. Akanji and Ake are to shaky as a partnership in the middle especially Akanji. There both better off either side of Dias. Its gonna be a struggle to score against them so remaining patient and compact defensively is gonna be important.

Bernardo is gonna be needed back as well. Im looking at this game as one we need to try our best to steal as our next few games are favourable. We don’t at all look very dynamic and creative at minute and Peps gonna need time to figure it out. These run of games plus the international break should help us bed in some of the incomings as well.

Sheffield United (Away)
Fulham (Home)
West Ham (Away)
Forest (Home)
Wolves (Away)

I can easily see Newcastle winning this if we play like we played in the Super Cup. I’m going for a 1-0 with a crappy goal in the 65th minute and the and great wall of China put up in the 75th minute to secure the victory.

FFs - tired little lambs after the first class travel, five star hotel suites for what was basically a productive, match and conditioning training session. Now back to multimillionaire houses and staff, the CFA spa and recovery facilities, state of the art phsyio and massage studios.
They've not queued up at Mcr airport's wonderful security checks, sat in Ryan Air seats with their knees by their ears, stayed in a 2 star, salmonella pit, come back to neighbours from hell and can't get a physio appointment for a month.
Add to that they're playing at home for the first time since the Treble (some for their debuts), against would be title contenders. I'd hope they'd be raring to go and focused.
