Newcastle United takeover?

It is to be fair, it just gets about as much coverage as you'd expect proportionate to horse racing's size vs. football.

The thing is, the horse racing correspondents and fans know he has kept the sport afloat. Without Godolphin the sport would be fucked.
It really was outrageous the way those Dubai upstarts were allowed to compete with the old school owners.
I’m surprised that the queen and her dear old mum, and all the other top level owners, didn’t tell the racing authorities to spell it out to them that they cannot just buy the best horses using their own money and go winning all the top prizes!!
Something should have been done- heavy fines and bans would surely have put them in their place!

We need to bring back the Empire, Britain ruled the waves, Australia took orders from us and India sent us tea. Hong Kong was a small but very productive island and South Africa and Rhodesia were the diamonds of Africa.

We don't want foreign owners in charge of OUR clubs kick them out I say.

Oh and can we have our oil back.

From the sanctimonious twaddle being pumped out by the press, it's amazing how many journalists are clearly getting paid back handers from Qatar.

That's exactly my thoughts. This is either the 2nd or 3rd time that he has tried to sell NUFC and previous attempts have fallen through for one reason or another. Until it's officially announced on the Newcastle OS then it is not a done deal.
Perhaps the obese twat should ask himself why these negotiations keep falling through.

Maybe he’s asking too much.
Just a thought.

A rival team with even bigger resources than us was bound to happen eventually, and I for one welcome our new Geordie overlords

I think Ashley is a slippery shifter, constatly changing his position during negotiations.
Now he owns half the high street and all its losses, he has more problems than NUFC to worry about.
Staveley's strike is well timed.

Keys again last night banging the drum for the premier league to stop this purchase purely on the Saudi’s stealing the Bein sports rights for 2 years! It would be like the bbc to show sky rights. He has a point.

It makes more sense when you put it that way. It did seem strange to pursue such a big purchase in the current climate. On the other hand this pandemic could well have a similar or even worst impact on the football industry than the high street.
