What is so wrong about players earning as much as they can in the market? You youself wouldn't submit to that sort of control in your profession, I would presume.

It doesn't seem sustainable to me.

They are in football to make money just as they invest in tech, property, Formula 1, etc etc etc. Like every other country in the Gulf they need to replace the revenues from dwindling oil reserves.

It very well may not be sustainable. The Italian league collapsed, and the Spanish league is in progress in doing the same. But why the players? They are entitled to make as much as possible. It is completely legal. If the market collapses and disappears, then too bad for them. The show and the circus will stop. The clubs will go on, with poorer level of football quality.

No club has done more to inflate transfer fee's and wages in the PL era than the rags.
Correct.

Record fee for a defender - camelgob - which stood for more than a decade.
Record fee for a teenager - shrek - which stood for more than a decade.
Stupid money for Veron, who turned out to be a donkey.

The list goes on and on.

They have never been criticised for what they spend, unlike us, who are ruining football and buying success when we splash out. They don't have to deal with the adding up of what the starting 11 or bench costs against smaller clubs in cup ties. The media are subservient, hypocritical cunts of the highest order with the way they report about the rags spending, compared to ours.
