It's almost certain Bruce will formally be gone in the next day or so. I imagine it's unlikely that they will have a manager in place for the game at home against Spurs. Presumably the new owners are hoping that sacking Bruce will lift the cloud that's been hanging over the stadium, although they need to rip down all the Sports Direct banners as well!
Looking at their fixtures, they've got a really tricky set coming up now and they really have to be careful... Spurs, Palace away, Chelsea, Brighton away, Brentford, Arsenal away then in December they have Leicester, Liverpool, City, United and Everton! Bear in mind they can't spend till January, ANY manager - even Pep - is going to struggle to keep them out of "the zone"!From April they've got Spurs away, Leicester, Liverpool, City away, Arsenal and the last game of the season is Burnley away and that could be a relegation decider.
I just don't think any manager who's decent will get much more out of that squad. One manager who I thought might be decent for them is Wenger - the longer Arsenal drift mid table, it shows what a good job he did. He's well respected and could start a "philosophy" and bring through some great players.
Actually, there's one guy who would lift the WHOLE LEAGUE if he came back to Newcastle for a few months. I'd love to see KK back and I reckon they'd love it as well. Honestly, can you imagine how top it would be if he took control till the end of the season! I'd buy a ST! :)
I genuinely will be fascinated to see how this pans out.
