Unless they are going to fuck ffp and take it on in the courts later.....that would be fun
Not impossible Leicester done it after nearly getting relegated but realistically hard to see how the Bar Codes could get enough quality in in just one full window to win the league even if they broke the bank.
They are probably owed a title anyway after the time they shit the bed and let the rags back in.

Can see Newcastle going down this year and they will probably build from there. There's an assumption that they will spend spend spend but that might now actually happen.

The only thing that concerns me regarding the Newcastle takeover is a repeat of what happened 28 years ago

Newcastle with a bit of investment and under Kevin Keegan became quite good and when I went on holiday all I saw was very overweight Geordie families, Mum, Dad two kids, all very fat, all wearing Newcastle shirts
It was fucking horrendous
I presume you were holidaying in the Arctic if they weren’t all bare-chested.

I call it cultural imperialism. You're only allowed to live by one set of supposedly liberal and Christian values. All others are morally abhorrent.

Cultural imperialism with knobs on, we used to have the Beatles, Coca Cola and Playboy magazine to wave at the Soviet Union, now we have the selective use of an outrage valve labelled universal human rights, which we can turn on, or, as in the case of Newcastle United, pretend to turn on, depending on whether it's genuine outrage or simply grandstanding.

So Amnesty gets to showcase their genuine concern, the Daily Mail gets to play cultural Imperialism, the Guardian gets to indulge in liberal hand wringing and patronising the working class, the Saudis get their football club, the Geordies get pissed and Daniel Levy is pissed.

It would have been his 1,000th game as a manager this weekend. Shame they didn't let him get to that milestone. One game wouldn't make a difference.
What if they went with the sentiment and lost, then relegated by 1 point? They are taking a Professional decision, it’s not an exhibition match.

It's almost certain Bruce will formally be gone in the next day or so. I imagine it's unlikely that they will have a manager in place for the game at home against Spurs. Presumably the new owners are hoping that sacking Bruce will lift the cloud that's been hanging over the stadium, although they need to rip down all the Sports Direct banners as well!

Looking at their fixtures, they've got a really tricky set coming up now and they really have to be careful... Spurs, Palace away, Chelsea, Brighton away, Brentford, Arsenal away then in December they have Leicester, Liverpool, City, United and Everton! Bear in mind they can't spend till January, ANY manager - even Pep - is going to struggle to keep them out of "the zone"!From April they've got Spurs away, Leicester, Liverpool, City away, Arsenal and the last game of the season is Burnley away and that could be a relegation decider.

I just don't think any manager who's decent will get much more out of that squad. One manager who I thought might be decent for them is Wenger - the longer Arsenal drift mid table, it shows what a good job he did. He's well respected and could start a "philosophy" and bring through some great players.

Actually, there's one guy who would lift the WHOLE LEAGUE if he came back to Newcastle for a few months. I'd love to see KK back and I reckon they'd love it as well. Honestly, can you imagine how top it would be if he took control till the end of the season! I'd buy a ST! :)

I genuinely will be fascinated to see how this pans out.
