It will happen in stages (like it did with us). First they need to avoid relegation; then get to the top of the none top 6; after that it gets harder: getting the better of Arsenal, Spurs, Everton before challenging the rags and the dippers. It will take years and that’s if they are successful.

manchester city had a free run of about 3 seasons before FFP was setup so i don't see a over night thing here
plus its still harder to find the manager and players with the demand the fans will make with the owners

Very happy for Newcastle and it’s another so called new money club who will further dent Man Utd’s ambition to get to the top again . Expect a massive summer transfer spend .

Unironically the Conference league is a nice thing for minnow countries to have a comp they can realistically win

Newcastle fans may need to be patient. I think the combination of FFP and the current financial might within the PL (compared to the rest of Europe) may prove a difficult barrier, at least initially. Although once they break through they'd likely stay assuming they're competently run.

Media seems to be moving away from the "City are state-owned" narrative now, apparently to make it look like Newcastle have 10x the funds we do.
