Will he, though? Won't their hands be somewhat tied by FFP? They can't just go out and assemble the football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters.
It would be as blank as blank could be with FFP :)

On a different note, if you're not in Europe, does FFP count as much?

Ok, if you were the Newcastle board who would you go for?

I think I'd be tempted to give Benitez a bell - popular with the fans, knows the league and seems to be well respected. I think he'd go back knowing he's got a blank chequebook.

I reckon James Rodriguez would be a good signing for them to start with or maybe Coutinho? Both would likely go there and would give them some attacking talent. Up front, I'd go for Aubameyang - loves his money and knows he won't win anything at Arsenal. Maybe a bid in for Doku who looked class in the Euros. Ings would be a decent forward. Ward-Prowse in midfield.
Manager: Potter, or more likely some overseas guy I’ve never heard of.

Players: Tricky to say because it’s hard to judge who they could get. I guess the prime territory is players like Coutinho/Rodriguez, as you say - players who’ve had a chance at a big club and found it didn’t work out. Tammy Abraham would be my first pick as a striker for them. Then perhaps Lindelof or Tomori to tighten up the back. Not top players, but perhaps possible to get and better than what they have.

I doubt they could go straight for the next level of players, the likes of Ndidi or Coufal or Ward Prowse might be out of reach, but if not they’d be good picks for the middle. I suspect Doku would want to move to a more competitive level of club but it’s hard to say how much money talks.

Don't know if it's been mentioned and sorry to lower the tone a touch but that Amanda Staveley is quite attractive in a funny sort of a way.

I'm off work today on holiday and have caught her a few times on SSN.

I don't know if it's me but she looks like she's sat on a spike... still give her the benefit of the doubt though..!

She reminds me of someone having their face trapped in a set of Bus Doors.

It's funny to see some of the reactions to this, especially from the very casual fans. You'd think all City had to do to get where they are at today is just throw vast sums of money around. I don't care how much money their new owners have, they will be up against it.

No offence mate but Hughes built a decent enough side and had them looking over their shoulders at the unfolding relegation scrap.
Thank god he was sacked or I truly believe we really would have gone down with a billion in the bank.
Mancini saved City. Gave us our respect back and catapulted us into the big leagues. Pellets took the job after that and kept things going very smoothly winning another title and a couple of trophies, laying the ground work ready for the genius that is Pep.
Hughes was a classless, clueless, cuntstain.
"Newcastle's going down with 320 Billion in the bank" - Do you reckon this chant will catch on?

Why do people think Newcastle are suddenly going to splash money.....FFP has fucked any chance of that....Villa and Everton has hugely wealthy owners, but still have to sell anyone a CL team want, the handcuffs were put on owners...Newcastle will be no different.
There’s avenues to explore:

Acceptable losses whilst not in Europe and the 35m per season allowable for 3 terms

Amortisation of players, could sign 5 x 100m players over a 5 year period which would count as 100m per season (taking into account the current players amortisation value).

Uplift in Sponsorship, Ashley won’t be paying much for his company deals, could easily trouser substantial income from new sponsors

The above could increase their prize money, match day revenues and participation in Europe

There’s a lot they can do and they will have proper savvy professionals on the case.
