Newcastle Utd (H) Post Match Thread

Probably because hes right footed he was given the nod ahead of Mbete
Would the thinking be that he came on for the experience in case he's needed to partner Laporte? Otherwise he was replacing the left footer, and Fern, a right footer, had to move across.

Pep is correct to be honest. It avoids continual questions in the press conference etc. They are injured end of. Explains Dias recently.

I thought you can't give a penalty after the final whistle but you can add time for it to be taken.
The ref can't give a pen after the final whistle and bring the players back onto the pitch for it to be taken.
But only if the team it is being awarded to play in red.
And it has happened, which is why it was mentioned.

They can.

There was a game in Germany where both teams had gone to their dressing rooms for half time and VAR decided there should be a penalty and they were brought out again for the penalty to be taken before going back in for half time.

Surely there's a difference between interrupting the match for HT break and the final whistle, finally ending the match.
