Newcastle v City - Official match thread

Newcastle will probably bring on Ranger go 4-4-2 and hoof it into the box even more than they have been 2nd half. I think we can keep them out though.

we need to hold possession a little better and complete the passes.
TBF we aint play liked we deserve the 2 up lead but we will do if we sort out the misplaced passing and mistakes.

We need to stay tight and keep the tempo up, force them into a mistake.

Everton somehow managed to hold us off, lets learn from them a little!

I'd love to see Balo come on at some point. There's so much space now. Excellent first half - we look bang up for it.

To be fair to Newcastle, they've looked a decent team. Carrol really is a handful, and they're throwing a lot of bodies forward to support him now, so we need to stay focused in the second half.

well at least commentators have stopped calling him a dm

Yaya isn't a DM.

Mancini is now able to employ him where he feels he can do the most damage...as an AM; and quite rightly so.

We have Barry and De Jong as DM, so Yaya doesn't have to worry about that job.

Even Barry isn't playing a DM, he's playing a more central midfield role as opposed to someone sat in front of the defense like Nigel. Nigel my MoTM so far, absolute quality and such a key player for us.

If Balo comes on with the right attitude he will be perfect for the counter.

No chance Balo plays in this match atm, he would only last 5 minutes before he saw red

lets smash them on the break this half. they may as well of got fat sam back to manage them the way they are playing under pardew. awful football.

composure, possession and playing the ball on the floor should see us through this match. i predict 1-2 more goals for us after 70mins...

CMON CITY!!!

I didn't see the Everton game, and optimism is always loose talk around here, but it feels like we're playing like we're playing today more and more often, even with different line-ups and different formations. We can play it around in triangles in the middle, we have a very good breakaway attack, decent pace here and there, good sub options, growing understanding between players and of their roles and some individuals are having a great run of form.

Now there'll be a volcano erupt under COMS of course, having said that.
To be honet the only problem v Everton was we couldn't get the the ball in the net more often.
