Maybe slightly off thread and if so I apologise, but, why is YaYa in Nairobi? Surely he would be in consideration for tonight's match so why is he not in the country? From the media watch article on the OS:

"Finally, Yaya Toure has admitted the City already have their work cut out if they wish to win the Premier League title this season after their third defeat of the season on Sunday.

Speaking in Nairobi yesterday, the Ballon d’Or nominee highlighted Liverpool as potential title rivals.

“I must admit that we have a tough battle ahead to reclaim the Premier League crown,” Toure told Goal.

“We must work extra hard as a team to compete with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United.

“Liverpool are a big threat at the moment because they have a strong squad and their strikers – Luiz Suarez and Daniel Sturridge - are scoring goals at will.”

Alan Pardew just said in press conference winning the 'sponsor monkey' cup is a massive priority, so maybe a full strength side.

Not too bothered who he picks, we could stuff their first team with the eds squad the way they've been playing.

like to see Guidetti get 30 mins tonight if we're winning

They have Chelsea at 12:45 on Saturday and the chiefs have made it clear the league is their priority... no Coloccini and S. Taylor (injured), and possibly no Cabaye and Remy (may be rested) tonight. Tiote is going to captain them, though, and has been in good form.

Apart from his driving! :) they might have written off the Saturday game already ala Mick McCarthy.

As I said, not too bothered about their line up, if we don't win by at least 2 clear goals tonight regardless i'll be very disappointed.

Never seen us win this trophy so fingers crossed.

Bloody hell, not asking for much there.

Given our away form is woeful and we'll be playing our second string, I'd settle for a scrappy win on penalties.

So you'd be disappointed if we won 1-0 and went through to the quarter finals?

Given the day off I'm sure, It would be criminal to have him play any part in this game considering his workload of late and in the future, same goes for Fernandinho. the drop off from Fernandinho and Yaya is so big that losing wither of them in the league would be a disaster

The Pub Guide

O'Neills, 38 Neville Street, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, NE1 5DF
Tel: 0191 261 7921
Website: O'Neills Newcastle

O'Neills is one of many pubs which are within reach of St James Park, such is the closeness of the stadium to the City Centre. Just down the road from the train station, this pub has plenty of space and everything you would expect from a large chain pub.

The Lounge, 8 Neville Street, Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, NE1 5EN
Tel: 0191 261 2211

The Lounge is right by the train station, so another handy pub if you are just stopping for the day and coming in on the train. Food is served in the pub if you want to grab a bite to eat and this is one of the pubs which is popular with away fans.

Demichelis not travelled to Newcastle. Saved for Norwich & CSKA as doubts over Kompany availability remain unfortunately

so game time for rodders or boyata likely.
would be a nice little boost to see one of those 2 put in a strong performance in terms of squad strength. If rodwell cant get fit and playing, I hope we put a recall clause in barrys loan deal, 60+ games asking a lot of yaya and fernandinho
