Newcastle Vs City Post Match Thread

The fact that opinion between us on here is split shows how difficult a decision the Ref had to make. He didn't have the benefit of numerous replays. The records show that it was given off-side so its time to move on.

I'm not excusing his performance for the rest of the game because he was truly awful. He started throwing yellows around like confetti and when that didn't work he realised that he could end up sending several players off and have a situation like the Sheffield Utd vs West Brom game a few years ago (I know he wasn't the ref in that game). From then on he made his mind up that he was not issuing a Red. Ruined the game and potentially because of him losing control could ruin a players career through injury.

Simply not good enough to ref full stop not just in the Prem.

tiote not happy...

If the referee gave the goal or not give the goal it's the right decision because it's the referees interpretation either way

I'm not usually anywhere near our team bus after games, but yesterday witnessed dozens of Newcastle fans close to Beatles-like hysteria when Yaya came out of the ground to get on the bus. Has this become normal procedure?

Imagine they're on the training pitch and take everyone but Hart, Gouffran and Tiote out of the equasion.
Gouffran has wandered over the retrieve a stray ball or something.

Would Hart have dived uninhibited and at full stretch?

Now in that same situation take Goaffran out of the picture and ask yourself the same question.

when the newcastle player dodged a ball that was coming straight at him on its way to the net is that not interfering with play to deliberately avoid the ball thus possible stopping the ball going into the net

i agree.

Its a bit harsh on Tiote, whos blinder of a shot is an unstoppable shot, but alas the shear lazyness of that striker who was standing 2 yards away from Hart and the fact that he had to move from the ball has caused his to interfere with play to a small degree, well to a degree enough that the ref that he was interferring with play :-)

if the striker had bust a gut to clear the 6 yard box then there would be no issue really.

But Newcastle still had plenty of time to score but they didnt and we scored twice so end of story i say.

A great away result i say, i didnt see the game but it sounds like they tried to rough us up but skill always prevails in the end!

i have always had a liking for Pardew. seemed to be a balanced and honest boss. it is disappointing though to see his team and him act in such unsporting way. the attitude of the newcastle team was to kick us off the park, and Pardews histrionics and abuse on the sidelines was completely out of order. this is not bias, i would be saying the same thing even if he called the piss can the names he was calling Manny, cos its just not the conduct expected of someone in that position.

i hope he and other bosses are brought to account by the league for the increasing outbursts on fellow managers and officials. its going too far now.
