I don't think Newcastle pose too much of a threat to warrant throwing Fernando into the opening game of the season, personally.

As long as Silva drops back a little deeper in the midfield from time to time we should be alright. When Silva, Yaya and Nasri play those triangles it's a thing of beauty.

Sounds like it's just Aguero & Mangala missing for Sunday.
 
Read a report that Newcastle will miss Cisse, De Jong, Tiote & Santon

Not sure how true that is. Elsewhere I've read that these players are doubts
 
Pardew seems awfully confident considering all the talent they're missing. Were they good in pre-season?

Tiote missing is a boost for us in midfield.
