Shut up you {deleted}.

Blues love Newc away as it has fond memories but the siting of the fans is terrible. You need oxygen to get up to it and it's like watching a subbuteo game. Lots won't go this year due to date of fixture but more importantly since the Tuxedo Princess closed there isn't a decent but seedy club to go to and usually shortage of rooms in city centre!

bit touchy there ?? am just a poor unintelligent scouser, what is a chicken griever ???? is it your latest number 9..." cheer up chicken griever oh what can it be "...class lad you, please register for grand old team/ bluekipper..please please please

Yet further proof (if any were needed) of just how deluded blue scousers are.

As for City then of course we are more loyal than the toon army. Just trawl back through their pre-keegan the messiah attendances 'back in the day'. Where were you when you were shit??!!!!!! Yet more hypocritical twats. ycmiu.

Shut up you fuckin chicken griever.

your first post you called me a C@@T, i let that go, you called me a tool, i let that go, you now abuse fellow posters, can't let that go.

bye bye and enjoy your small club for what it is, small.

There's no saving grace about Liverpool. I went to Sarajevo to watch the toon in 2003, and it was just after the war, it was a nicer, more aesthetically pleasing place than Merseyside despite every single building having bullet holes in it. You don't bring any fans here because your support is shit, funny Liverpool and Leeds sell out despite our cuntish OB and stewards, and if your most expensive tickets were any more than the £34 they are now you woudn't even get the 36,000 you did against Man Utd this season.

Our most expensive tickets are £48 quid for Cat 'a' games, playing Newcastle however is deemed cat 'b' or 'c', I'm not quite sure, should one of the bigger teams have been coming to COMS it would have been deemed a cat 'a' but as a newly promoted and probable bottom half team tickets are cheaper to get ppl in, as the 'toon' don't quite have the same 'pulling' power as say an Arsenal or a Chelsea you see Leazelad. Quality, not quantity, is a precursor to success when posting on this forum, you silly half jock in bred fool. I'm just glad I don't go away to Newcastle as it would upset me to see that evolution is just a word to you bloody imbeciles. You wonder why your region is struggling economically, just look around you and if you can't see the answer staring you in the face then you truly are the reason yourself.

Newcastle and City should not criticise each other for dodgy gates. I thought the chant this weekend was ridiculous - save the abuse for Chelsea, Leeds, Sunderland and others.

There are issues behind some of the average attendances since 1989 onwards (particularly for City as Maine Road's capacity during the period from 1992 to 2003 was severly restricted and, during the period 1992 to 1995 building work meant capacity for some games was as low as 20,000).

In good times Newcastle get enormous crowds, but in bad times their attendances do drop off at an alarming rate - 16,001 in 1980-81 (26th best in League, when City's was 33,587 - 4th best in League), 17,276 in 1981-82 (17th best in League, City's was 34,063 - 4th best again).

Analysis in 2002 showed that City's ultimate all-time average attendance position was 7th while Newcastle's was 6th. Ahead of us were Arsenal, Liverpool, Utd, Everton and Spurs. Since 2002 Arsenal, Utd, City & Newcastle's all-time averages will have increased, while the other clubs would probably have dropped a little.

I've just calculated City's all-time average attendance for the updated version of "Manchester A Football History" coming out at Christmas - the figure stands at 29,555 (based on every League game). According to Newcastle stats (so I don't know if they've used the same approach but it's the best we have) their all-time average stands at 30,315 - not much difference between the sides really, considering capacity restrictions and so on.
http://www.nufc.com/2010-11html/attenda ... -time.html

Was about a 3000 difference now.

Man Utd 37,365

Liverpool 33,944
Tottenham 33,487
Arsenal 32,713
Chelsea 31,514
Newcastle 31,330

Everton 31,113
Man City 28,905
Aston Villa 28,188
Leeds 25,618
Sunderland 25,100

Highly creditable that, 29,000 given your bleak years.

a newcastle fan laughing at everton.irony of that.you base everything on attendances and statistics. we never travel newcastle in numbers because your stewards/police are cnuts of the highest order. and the view from the seats is dreadful. why would any fan put up with that.its only saving grace is jesmond is a great place to stay over in

More to the point, why oh why are you taking on the 'statto' legend, that is our very own Mr James and thinking that you could possibly win the debate..........now that is deluded :-) !!

-- Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:15 am --

Even in the 80's selling our best players every year, we were in the best 6-8 supported clubs in the country, despite being in the top 10 once, and as I said we were the third best supported club in the country despite being in Division Two in 1984. I don't know where these myths come from, it's usually bourne out of jealousy, as when you divide success by attendances over the last 60 years, there really isn't a comparable club that I know of in world football. Our gates in that league are almost double what Leeds, with a catchment area double ours, have been getting no mention of them eh? So apart from 1991, what else can you say about our gates, two dodgy ones in the economic clutch of the very early 80's?

To be fair though Gary, I cringed when we sang that at Chelsea the other week.

Chelsea have always travelled in numbers and the eighties saw them bring two of the most impressive away followings to Maine Road I have ever seen....and one of those games was on a Friday night!!
