Lescotts coming!

MANCHESTER CITY will offer Micah Richards as bait in their bid to snap up Joleon Lescott.
City know Everton are desperate not to part with the England defender, 26, as crocked Phil Jagielka could be out of action until Christmas.

But Eastlands boss Mark Hughes has made Lescott his top defensive priority and is set to sacrifice Richards in his quest to land him.

Everton chairman Bill Kenwright does not have to sell his top players even though he is still looking to bring extra investment into the club.

But boss David Moyes will not keep hold of any player who wants to leave and City could almost double Lescott's £45,000-a-week wages.

City believe they are close to pulling off another coup by snatching Carlos Tevez, 25, from Manchester United.

But Hughes' hopes of luring Liverpool's Xabi Alonso, 27, have been dashed. Alonso, a Real Madrid target, insists he will not move to another Premier League club.

i hope we don't give them Micah as a sweetener,as I said in a previous thread, ideally I would send Micah out to somewhere like Wolves,Brum,Stoke on loan for a season, where the pressure isn't as high and he could hopefully get back to his true potential.

Yeah, even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I would be surprised if we used Richards as a make-weight, unless Hughes has faith in some of the Academy kids, as it would show a lack of planning for the future.

It will be intresting to see what line-up Hughes would use if this switch occurs.

I posted about Lescott being a target on on sunday the 31st @2.55pm, and the NOTW break the news this Sunday.

Haha, whoever hopes this comes off need thier head examining imo.

Micah has shown he has what it takes to play for England, Lescott has looked like a fish out of water at that level. I'd want Lescott as he's a very effective Premiership defender who can cover the left side and is left footed.

No way i'd give up Micah for him though.
