Conran st market is the one near the dogs home in Harpurhey.

Spot on Gaz. I used to live near Conran Street market, it was a really good market but no idea what it's like these days though.

Conran St is now enclosed by a 12' wall and barbed wire (it may have been before but only recently visited for the first time).

Newton heath by the canal, always went when I visited my Aunt, parked on the rough ground, went last year and was amazed as only a couple of dozen stalls open.

OP, you should be more worried about Urmston market as it was your local and it is now the pits and will no doubt shut soon.

Like others, it was a major part of my upbringing being dragged around there every Sat with my mum....shame it's no more really. Got some of my first singles from there back in the day...

Thats really sad, in the early 80's when i was around 4 or 5 me mam took me on NH market and made me choose between a united and city scarf (my first footy gear). Since that day i've been a mad city fan ever since. Its such a shame its closed down.

Jesus fella if only you had gone back for another scarf the market might have survived!! ;-)
