After the Eto'o deal fell through (no fault of the club IMO), and now Adebayor is having a rethink and hopefully ain't coming, I wonder which African player the club will go for next. In my mind the main reason for signing Adebayor is that he was African Player of The Year (2008) and is a popular guy over there (like Eto'o) and hence perfect for the club's global target market.


So who's next?

Adebayor isn't having a rethink, thats just rumours, as Hughes told SSN that our talks with adebayor are in an advanced stage! Also we aren't just signing him for being popular in Africa, we're signing him cause hes a quality player capable of scoring 20+ goals in the premier league.
