Emotion can be good as you state,and it's far from often he allows it to consume him.He's 28,and considering the average age of our squad,in all respects he's very much a senior figure now.You can be all that without the need for the captaincy. I have my slight doubts about KDB as captain right now.
He can often get too emotional on the pitch. We’ve seen him throw a strop at teammates or more than one occasion for not picking a pass or something similar and we’ve seen petulance creep into his game at times including as recently as the pre-season friendly against Yokohama with a series of naughty and needless fouls within a few minutes when something went against him.
Of course that emotion can work in our favour too at times just like when Spurs tried to cripple him only for it to make him angry enough to take the game by the scruff of the neck and win it single handedly smashing the ball through Loris.
Just feel he sometimes needs somebody more senior than him on the pitch to just have a word in his ear and calm him down a tad which won’t be possible if he’s club captain. I fully expect him to temper his emotions and become captain eventually, just not yet.

Pep and the players respect and trust him.Other than his injury concerns......he's the perfect choice.
Don’t disagree with anything you said mate. Suppose it boils down to personal preference. For me he makes the perfect number 2 for now to the more senior Silva and Fernandinho with him in line to take over the main role either next year or the season after depending on how long Dinho is with us. He will get plenty of chances to captain the side before then either way with both of the other two’s playing times likely to be reduced and managed on account of their age.
Dont think it’s in any doubt, Silvas last season and the longest serving player now, it’s easily him. Dinho and kdb will be his two deputies.
I suspect it was down to him simply being the closest player but I though it was interesting walker took the armband last Sunday when stones and otamendi were on the pitch and even sterling and didn’t pass it on.
I didn’t hear anyone saying Kompany should be replaced or that he was still only Captain due to sentiment during his long periods off the field.Playing time is my issue,both Dinho and Silva will have far less minutes than previous seasons and so the armband would be unnecessarily bounced around the team.To choose either of them would be predominantly based on sentiment.
Anyway,i'm sure the players will choose wisely and as long as they are happy,we're all happy!
Id agree and also throw in we need continuity, which Merlin, sadly can no longer offerI'm hoping its Kev,make Silva club Captain if sentiment is needed.
We need an inspirational and automatic starter,with leadership abilities,and who speaks well in public,as team Captain - Kev fits the bill perfectly.
