Next Captain

I think Pepe sees a team of leaders and the captain is just the one that talks to the ref during the game and joins him, the ref, the opposition manager and their captain before the game. So he doesn't need a leader - he needs a professional spokesperson. So he must think that Sterling is the better at that than anyone else in the team (who's fit).

I think Pep leaves it to the players. They vote for a senior player group and a captain at the beginning of the season. When the captain doesn't play, one of the other 3 or 4 Senior Players act as captain. Fern was voted captain, Kev, Raz, and Kyle were votes as Senior Players.
