Next James Bond?

Genuine question- the people who want the next James Bond to be an actress, what's the plan? Is the character still male but played by a woman and nobody ever acknowledges it? Or has the character transitioned between films?

I really don't know which it is people are lobbying for. I suspect a lot of them haven't thought about that bit.

For story progression into modern day adaptation you don't 'need' to make 'Bond' female.

The (code)name and code number are two entirely separate things. Tell me the last film to feature 'Bond' in the title?

Whislt a spy should earn their '00' status, the 'Bond' name should become a code one a la 'Mr Smith'. It doesn't stop them being a '00', just one that works up to the status of '007', whever that may lie in the ranking ('commander', I think).

This would give us leeway to expore an female and male agent in two diferent way before marrying them up a couple of films later.

Just requires a bit more expansive thinking, inclusion and mordenisation.

Apologies, I must not have kept up to date with your post history as well as I should have. To be honest I really dropped the ball on my History of Bigga classes around 2018 so maybe that's when I missed it.

So this is basically a very convoluted way of saying you don't have an answer to my question? You're talking about a completely different scenario to the one I am, one where a different character takes over as the protagonist in a franchise.

Again, you're proposing the creation of a completely new character. That's not at all the same as literally gender-swapping the character of James Bond.

I dont think they can choose a woman as its a male character. That would be mental. For me, I would like to see Tom Hardy to take it on, but cant see him wanting to. If not him, then some other ****.
