Re Sterling, would you start him against Liverpool and hope the atmosphere doesn't affect his game or would you use him as an impact sub against tiring players?
If ever Raheem was going to shut up the scouse boo boys, this is the match. He is in fine form, has seemingly matured since last season, and fully understands his role in Pep’s system.

It will be a hostile atmosphere for him, no doubt, but he is finally in place where he may be able to not only handle it, but channel it into a source of motivation. And, based on their fullbacks’ handling of Chelsea’s wingers/fullbacks, I think he will have the beating of their defenders, as well.

I hope he plays and runs them into the ground.

We’ll lose. One of their midfield will score a screamer and Sterling will have a stinker.

When does anything else happen?

Tend to agree, if we leave him out everytime we go to Anfield it will just become a self fulfilling prophecy. We are a better team when we play two wingers with pace which means Sane and Sterling start. Last time we went there we diverged from our normal game and it backfired so I would start him.

Our luck has to turn eventually.

Fingers crossed it’s this year but I can’t see it myself. Pep too stubborn to change his tactics against Klopp and that’s why Klopp has so much success against him.

Ederson
Walker
Otamendi
Laporte
Mendy
Dinho
Silva
Bernardo
Raheem
Aguero
Sane

On paper, that team is more than talented enough to spank them scouse ****s but the atmosphere seems to get the better of us at that place no matter what team/manager we have.

COYB!

Hate to sound like a Liverpool fan but I think this could be our year.

More like home town ref'ing. If we get anything like fair officiating, we have a very good chance. However, that's akin to asking for a solution to world hunger.

Hopefully they got that screamer last Saturday. Sterling has played well lately and deserves a start despite past experiences. Agree with the assessment that we can get at their fullbacks and so Sane and Sterling make sense. Very concerned that Fern will get strangled in midfield and would worry about the left full back position. Someone mentioned Laporte but did he not start there in the CL match at Klanfield? I think with a bit of luck we can get a draw or even a rare victory if we can score first. If Kun is not fully fit maybe a false 9 might be an option as Jesus is wandering around like a lost soul these days.
