Southampton and united at home before the international break.

I'm expecting 6 points especially when you consider before the derby we have Shakhtar at home and united have Juventus away.

We owe them one, its mind boggling City havent beaten them at the Etihad since 2014 but we trample all over them at the swamp.

Including the cup games in between, our next 5 league games before we go away to Chelsea:

Thurs 1st Nov - Fulham (H) - EFL Cup
Sun 4th Nov - Southampton (H)
Wed 7th Nov - Shakhtar (H) - CL
Sun 11th Nov - United (H)
Sat 24th Nov - West Ham (A)

Tues 27th Nov - Lyon (A) - CL
Sat 1st Dec - Bournemouth (H)
Tues 4th Dec - Watford (A)

Sat 8th Dec - Chelsea (A)

That's a good run of games for us before Chelsea, even the away games are happy hunting grounds usually. We really owe United a thrashing at home.

Liverpool Next 5 League games:
Sat 3rd Nov - Arsenal (A)
Tues 6th Nov - Red Star Belgrade (A) - CL
Sun 11th Nov - Fulham (H)
Sat 24th Nov - Watford (A)

Wed 28th Nov - PSG (A) - CL
Sun 2nd Dec - Everton (H)
Wed 5th Dec - Burnley (A)

I'd say a slightly harder run for them. They have some games that have been tricky for them in the past; Arsenal, Watford and Burnley away and a derby at home similar to us, although that's usually more comfortable for them.

Chelsea Next 5 League games:
Wed 31st Oct - Derby (H) - EFL Cup
Sun 4th Nov - Crystal Palace (H)
Thurs 8th Nov - BATE (A) - Europa
Sun 11th Nov - Everton (H)
Sat 24th Nov - Spurs (A)

Thurs 29th Nov - PAOK (H) - Europa
Sun 2nd Dec - Fulham (H)
Wed 5th Dec - Wolves (A)

2 tricky away games.

Chelsea aren’t that good, we should beat them even if it is at their ground. Rags drew there, dippers drew there, we’ll win.

Yes, @MCFC1993 I was just working out the same thing. By the time we go to Stamford Bridge, we could have gleaned maximum points. It's most certainly doable. Chelsea's is marginally trickier than our run-in up to that match, I'd say: Spurs away and Wolves away are the obvious test cases. I'd expect Chelsea to pick up maximum points from their home games without breaking much sweat. We won last night, without being at our best, or close to it. Spurs are on a run, we are told (statistically, that is so). Wolves, by contrast, seem to have fallen away somewhat. They're still a good team, and could give Chelsea problems. We picked up 4 points from those two fixtures. Can they do as well as us?
Liverpool's run-in till 8th December seems distinctly trickier to me. The two tricky ones are at the Emirates and Vicarage Road, obviously. We'll see what they're made of pretty quickly. We won comfortably at the Emirates, although Arsenal have improved since then (not as much as some of the pundits have been suggesting; they've been distinctly fortunate in some matches, in my view, especially against Newcastle). Watford have picked up again after a strange patch, and are a useful side. Perhaps we can hope for a loss at the Emirates, and a draw at Vicarage Road? Or two draws. And for chavs, a loss in one of their two matches at Wembley and Molineux. Basically, I'd like us to have put three points clear daylight, along with a significantly superior goal difference, between us and our two challengers – I just don't believe anyone else will be at the races, come May – by 8 December. That seems like a reasonable ask.
In the home straight, from January onward, all of them come to the Etihad: Spurs, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea. It couldn't have fallen out better. I can't remember when that last happened. If we're leading the table on New Year's Day, we'll have our destiny in our hands. Obviously, we can fuck up in the lesser matches, but if there's one thing that seems to have been largely ironed out since MP's last season and Pep's first, it is exactly that. I couldn't ask for more, really. Very, very happy with last night's result, and the situation we're in.

Win the next two and we go into the international break with at least a two point advantage. I think we'll start to pull away during the Christmas period, Liverpool are nothing special.

It’s always hard to predict a Derby match and our record has been very poor at home against them in recent years. Due a win though and much better than them but they will foul and spoil and Park the bus.

I think 13/15 is very doable in the next 5.
