Next Manager after Pep

Bring back Mancini but seriously this is the biggest challenge our owners will have faced . Whoever we get will have a huge task following on from the Pep era. Hopefully our Owners are already laying careful plans for continuity of the success of the project. The way the rag scum slid into also rans is a lesson for all and the model of how not to do it.

Not Brendan Rodgers. He’s just another average journeyman manager. Uninspiring and wouldn’t attract any major signings.

Luis Enrique sounds like the ideal appointment, especially if he plays a faster kind of Pep football. Would be very exciting, especially if we had a striker by then.

I'm always sceptical of these narratives about managers being serial bottlers, I remember the same things being said about Ferguson and Klopp when they missed a few things they could win.
Some people now day the same thing about Pep and the champions league.
The fact is margins are very tight and most managers even the very good ones miss more than they win and they cannot control every error on the pitch.
Rodgers produced a good team at Swansea who neither bottled promotion or were threatened with relegation.
His team at Liverpool were very good with Suarez and just missed out. He won plenty at Celtic and they weren't bad in Europe.
Leicester won a very good FA cup and have over achieved in the premier league.
He is undoubtedly a good coach and I seriously doubt he is a bottler.
All that said I don't want him as our manager, I find him unbelievably narcissistic. His favourite picture is a mirror, and all the Celtic fans I know thought he was a liar when he was at the club and can't stand him since he left.
Agree he’s done well at Leicester, I think the Celtic fans are an example of lovers spurned, but I still think as a leader he’s a bottler, otherwise he’d have got liverpool the title in 14 and Leicester in CL in at least one of the last 2 years. Opinions though

It all depends on when pep leaves. if its 2023, ten hag and Enrique can be options, if he stays a bit more though, its impossible to predict

Do you guys fear the day Pep leaves? Or is it a case of the structure at the club is so strong now that you have confidence in the right man being chosen to continue to the success?

A bit of both, I guess.
I feel there will be an inevitable drop off when Pep goes, but have total faith that the club will not go into freefall, and whoever succeeds him will be successful. Just not Pep levels of success

Both. We'll never quite reach these standards again I don't think, but we've probably had an approximate succession plan in place for a while now already.

I trust there are plenty legs in the good times yet, just perhaps with a little less consistency.

Just watching the Sky replay of the game and there's loads of beautiful football being played that you don't always appreciate live. The chess like movement, the passing, world class touch, pressing and tackling. We just take Pep's football for granted. We are so going to miss it when he's gone. We'll still have fantastic players and maybe a few more of the youth team involved. I'm sure whoever we get will produce good football, we will have a plan unlike some. .

To complement the youth academy, you should have a FOC academy producing managers. Have them pick the team, subs, jackets etc and whoever gets closest to Pep wins.
