Next Manager after Pep

In a bit of tongue-in-cheek, my answer to whom I'd like to have manage us once Pep leaves - was "Pep"...

Based on the Euro's - I'd very much like for us to consider Mancini once Pep leaves.

Jon Champion rightly observed that Mancini - in the past - managed through conflict. Indeed, as a player, he often fell out with management to the detriment of himself and the side he represented.

At City - he fell out with both players and management as has been well chronicled.

Now... at the helm of the Italian National Side - has Mancini matured? Has he curbed his confrontational nature?

Who knows - there doesn't seem to be any press, though, citing conflict with Mancini in his current role.

And the side he's molded - are fantastic. They are a high press side, with deft passing and able to create - and willing to create - with long balls, attack along the sides and play through the middle.
===
When Pep eventually leaves our side - I hope that Mancini is in consideration.

I love pep but Mancini is cool as fuck. One thing I really miss about bobby was how he treated the derby. Pep still hasn't got that. Pep has given us a football machine unlike any we'll see again after him but Mancini brought us some of the greatest memories in our history.

I like Mancini, I know he had issues in the dressing room but to be fair he was left with a few twats to deal with that were loyal to Hughes. Didn't help himself taking a punt on Balotelli though who was a nightmare to manage.

It's been proven that Peps record is slightly better in derby's tbf. I think many are still pissed with him for not beating them to win the league a couple of years ago.

People remember Mancini winning the 2 derbies he needed to, the final and the League winning derby. Pep has won the ones he needed to too, but not the recent ones that didn't which probably give the perception.

Think that was just one of them to be fair. We could and should have been 5-0 up at HT, Raz missing 2 'one on ones' and Gundog another great chance. Players couldn't get it going 2nd half

Was singing 'Mancini, woooh' during the Italy v Wales game, stupid I know :-)

The next manager will have the opposite skillset of the previous incumbent.

- Less head busting inplay tictacs.
- Less intensive fooball philosophies.
- Less distancing from the squad and moar player cuddles.

After Bobby Manc left the locker room combustive, in stepped the gentleman Pellers with the management shifting to a more "holistic" approach. When the team was found wanting in the coaching and tactics dept, the next appointment in Pep addressed those very weaknesses.

Might seem a bit crazy now, but it seems more than plausible to me that Arteta really kicks on with Arsenal in the next few years (hasn't had a fair go so far imo) and puts himself right in the mix to take over from Pep...

Found the thread just for this. His teams play really attractive, attacking football.

I’m ignorant to the reasons in the ‘cons’ column though so if there’s any enlightening information for it then I’d be interested to hear.
He’s a lesser version of Pep. We would be quite frustrated more often than not. I would go for someone from the German school

Did he win the CL with Barca or am I making that up? In 2015? Albeit had Neymar, Suarez and Messi up front but his teams always seem attractive to watch to me

He did, with a monstrous team, but in tactical terms, much less appealing

edit: His subs are usually terrible, as proven by this game.

If you go back on this thread, you will see that I have named him as someone I would want. I changed my mind and would rather have a German now
