So much arrogance here. Do we think we have some kind of divine right to be challenging for the league? Isn't that what we accuse the rags of?

I'd be delighted to win the league again, or reach the final stages of the CL, or get a cup double. But I'd be happy with just qualifying for the CL and going out of all the cups, because it's something I never thought I'd see only a few years ago.

It is simply what people are hoping for, and they aren't entirely unrealistic expectations either. Difference between hoping to win the league and saying things like that the PL trophy is your trophy.

I'd say finishing in the top 4 and winning a trophy would be regarded as a successful season for any team. Obviously winning the league achieves both in one go!

Though in City's case I'd say it's vital we get into the 2nd phase of the champions league next season too

Make a decent challenge on all fronts.

Play decent quick attacking football.

Pick up either the league, fa cup or dare i say it... The champs league.

Knockout stages of the Champions League and a proper title race, that is all i ever want. Wins will come every few years.

I'd be happy with a serious challenge for the title and getting out of the CL groups. I don't think we can expect to win title every year, but we do need to be around it every year.

Do better than United in every competition. Finish 2nd and Chelsea win the league = good season not too arsed. Finish 2nd and the rags win it, extremely fucking arsed. And for fucks sake buy some players with pace.

I would be happy coming away from matches thinking WOW...we have got a hell of a team here who are continually improving. Even though we have some great players I still don't have that gut feeling that we are a great team.......yet!!!.

Not falling an all but insurmountable distance from 1st for the third season on the bounce would be fine by me. I don't necessarily judge our progress on cups, just that we challenge in all competitions properly. Lots of luck involved in the actual winning, but to get in the position where luck makes the difference is a lot of work.

Challenge till the end for the league. At least the semis for both domestic cups, and last 16 minimum for the CL. Regardless of summer activity those are the minimum expectations for a club at the top IMO.

PL = Win
FAC = QF or Win
LC = Win or QF
CL= Last 16

Champions of England and one of the two cups. A nice domestic double to signal to the meedja that this season was a blip on the road to greatness.
