Next season predictions?

There's a high probability that we will be losing the spine of the team that has brought us 2 titles and 3 cups. Pep has a huge rebuilding job on his hands and he can't be expected to do it in one window. He's also hampered by the Euros and he won't have as much pre season as he'd like. He's new to the Premier league too, a league which is far more intense and physical than anything he's experienced before. The teams at the top may not be as good as the best in Europe, but the overall quality of the league is certainly better and quite a few managers will be a bit put out by Pep's arrival and make sure they do everything they can to spoil his party. A lot of teams are going to treat playing him as a cup final. Beating Pep will look great on the CV's of the journeyman managers, and people like Fat Sam, Leslie and Pulis will be salivating at the mere thought of it.
It isn't going to be as easy as some people think and my only expectation for his first year is top 4. His second year is when I expect to be seriously challenging on all fronts.

Can't really argue with any of that, and odds are you are correct. Add to it the impact of the Europa League matches. Nevertheless, I'll still be hoping that Pep can somehow pull a rabbit out of a hat and have us at least challenging next season.

Main concern for me is the post season tour and the pre season tour not forgetting the euros could mean pep doesn't get the time to mould them before we start in anger in August.
I cannot imagine this guy not making a few decent signings and hope they are already lined up.
Predictions are hard and probably foolish at this stage but I feel he will improve us. Target has to be premier league

I'm afraid there is more than a touch of blind faith in there Chippy. But hey we are now in a a very strange era and I suppose just about anything could happen next season and heres hoping we do win it by ten points. If Leicester can don't see why we can't.
 
I think we'll start off extremely slowly. All of our players are internationals, and with both a Copa AND Euros, pre-season will be incredibly short, when really we need a longer pre-season than ever with the extreme change of tactics taking place. Throw in a trip to the Far East, it really is less than ideal. Plus, we will be without Kompany to start, and, assuming we still sign them or have interest, likely Gundogan and Laporte.

Pep's teams seem to always have as many or more injured players than we've had the last year or two, so I am hoping he will adjust somewhat to the more physical league that also does not have a winter break.

Would love to win the Europa and I think we'd take it pretty seriously, especially during the group stage when Pep can use it as live match practice for the methods he plans on using for the next few years.

Cups are Cups, we'll have a good chance of winning one of them every year no matter the manager with our squad.

League will be incredibly tough, with Chelsea being able to do a Spurs/Leicester with no Europe to stand in their way. Not worried about Leicester or Arsenal at all. If Mourinho comes in that makes it even more difficult.

Would not be surprised if we ended trophyless next year just with the extreme change we're about to go through and not too much time to prepare for it. Brace yourselves for the Fraudiola commentary from the twitter and Daily Mail commenters.

I don't think people realise how far the team and certain individual players have regressed in the last 18 months.

Soton,West Ham & the rags have accumulated more points than us since Xmas. From the day the Pep announcement was made our points total,extrapolated over the season,would get us 10th place !!

We've lost 10 games & counting. We've built a brand & lost our soul. There is a growing disconnect between the fans & the players / club.

Do not under estimate the job ahead. Pepito may be good but he's not a magician.
 
We should get back into the top 4. It's hard to predict whether we'll win anything before seeing who we sign and who we actually manage to ship out. We also need to see how much time the players get with Pep in pre-season (probably not much), so it may be that the first few months of the season show little improvement, like when Klopp joined Liverpool.

Kin hell chippy boy that is some faith. At this juncture, I will be happy if we make top 4. The squad is poor and needs a revamp, pep has not coached in this league and I genuinely think it will take him one season to come to terms with it and new players to settle down.

I'm not going to put any aims/predictions on any trophies. None. Year 1 is a free hit for him because of the state of the squad, the fitness of the players and the lack of direction they've been given for the last few years. He's got a hell of a lot of work to do to get us in a position to be ready to compete, never mind win anything.

I predict he will address the strange unbalance in the squad, the age of the four full backs and core of the team, and the overall quality of it, fitness and pace of it.

I predict he will bring:
Preparation
Organisation
Systems
Set plays
A gameplan
Entertaining football
Fitness
Strength in mentality
Never say die attitude
Bollockings
The fear that averageness and lack of work rate is unacceptable at this club
And much more...

From there we might be in a position to compete against top half teams and even for the title. Whatever we win, if anything, will be a bonus.

Year 2 I will be aiming and predicting actual things.

The youngsters will replace the deadwood in the squad. Angelino-Kolorov, Denayer-Demi, Brahim/Roberts-Navas. Hopefully a few others Bryne or Davenport too. Im not sold on Garcia yet.

With 5/6 quality signings added to the existing players like Aguero, KDB, Sterling, Dinhio, Hart, Otamendi & Silva we will win the league with Pep.

Fancy us to get to the semis at least again in whatever European competition we land in.

how can you make a prediction for next season when we dont know what Euro competition we will be in, what players leave and what players come in?

ask me again late July.

I`m not going to make any predictions .
Because my predicting skills are c**p .
