Next season predictions?

Think we will win the league and go one further in the champions league! Looking forward to what the new season is going to bring and how pep is going to turn our team into a dominant one which has a fighting spirit and a top quality work ethic.

The rebuilding job at City is huge & probably bigger than any of us appreciate.

At least 5 'crack' new players to integrate, new & flexible tactics, big increase in fitness & durability, improvement in attitude & team spirit etc etc.

The disruption caused by the Euros & Copa America will hinder some,if not much,of the time necessary to undertake this essential work with much of the squad.

2016/17 will be a season of consolidation for us & will see another big step up in competition from most teams in the PL.

Pep will not welcome the media agenda nor a resumption of Maureen's mind games which resulted in him needing to take a year off before joining Bayern. Pep is quite a sensitive individual & Maureen will be at it from the off !!

I think we will see steady progress as the season develops and a top 3 or 4 position.

Good luck & best wishes Pep......you'll probably need it.

The rebuilding job isn't THAT big. Two fast fullbacks that can defend well, another striker and a midfield boss like Pogba and we'll blow most teams away.

I expect we're going to be a bit touch and go during the first half of the season, and whilst we'll be able to see glimpses of what Pep is trying to do it won't quite be working yet. The world as his dog will proclaim him a failure . Plenty of stupid headlines like 'Under Pressure Pep' and 'Pep facing player revolt already!!!', will be drowned in a sea of op-eds asking questions like 'Does Pep have much time left?' and 'Pep - Is he over rated because he didn't win the CL 4 times with Bayern?'.. Mourinho at the rags will of course be doing no wrong and is once again the best coach in the world™.

Then things will start falling into place and we'll smash everyone left right and center. The press will conveniently forget all their bullshit predictions made a few months prior, or wave it off with the excuse that 'Well, he should be doing that at a minimum will all the money spent'. We'll probably still fall short in the CL because some ref will fuck us,but people will still use as a stick to beat him with. Fortunately we'll be domestically dominant so anyone with any sanity will be happy as a pig in shit.

At the moment we still have the best team in the PL IMO. They have just hugely underperformed and been allowed to rest on their laurels.

We are going to add the best manager in the world in Pep.

Chelsea and United will be far bigger rebuilding jobs than us. All we need are a few top class additions and we are good to go.

It will be the toughest season the Premier League has seen. For the first time proper competition not dominated by one or two clubs. The TV money has changed everything. It is now much easier for clubs to keep their best players. City will be in transition and right now I would take top four and another trophy. I think Pep's second season will be the big one.
Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, United will all fight for the top four. I also think Everton, West Ham and Leicester will be up there as well.

So....just 2 full backs who can defend,Pogba & a goal scoring striker 'eh.

Names please.

I admire some of the optimism on here. Some of the squad will not be here, others aren't as good as we or they think they are, others will have to do a hell of a lot better than last season & the new players need to settle in ( it took Merlin till December).

Pep might be good but he's never managed here before. He's gonna have to work miracles for some on here

Welcome & good luck Pep.....you might need it.

Hopefully just see an actual team playing to actual tactics would be a start. Really think it'll be a transitional year for us rather than a dominant one some seem to expect, however saying that you could argue similar points for United, Chelsea & Liverpool given their new managers also (albeit Liverpool have a head start) and I suppose somebody has to get off to a flyer out of that bunch.. Hopefully us.

I'm rather fearful that both Liverpool and Chelsea (especially Chelsea) will do well next year, without having to play in Europe. It was annoying when Liverpool fell apart last week in the EL final, I was hoping they would win that and get into the CL as a result.

I mean Chelsea will be essentially the same as when they won the league in 2014-15, if they add a couple of players, if their new manager is less of a kn** than Mourinho - which he should be, then without those extra games they should be strong in the league.

Without knowing which players we are getting or any of our rivals making predictions is impossible.
However my main wish for next season is fewer injuries, whereas I don't think Pell was faultless and replaying his faults is pointless I do think the biggest single contributor to our very average league form was the perpetual injuries, which as well as denying us key players for much of the season also appeared to cause them to lose form on their return frequently.
Without a fit squad Pep will be operating with a big handicap, assuming reasonable fitness I expect us to be challenging for the title whether or not we get it obviously depends on the performance of other teams as well as our own.
I have some concerns about so many of our players being away at the Euros and Copa this summer and the lack of rest for a team already riddled with injuries and possibly buying more injured players if the rumours are true.

Im genuinely not downhyping Pep now but I'm certain we won't win anything next season.
He'll need a full season of getting used to the players, them getting used to him, bringing in his own players and so on....

Next season I ain't expecting any trophies.

I think Pep is the right man for the job however he'll come in and his initial record will be shit, with egg on his face and the media quick to dip their soldiers in the yolk.
He'll be the joke of the league, the has-been easy option, worst. Manager ever blahdeblah...

With Moaninho the saviour of all that's good and gracious in the sport.

Then as he settles in he'll smash the doubters, reveal his ace card and we'll be collecting all those chips and cashing in.

Boom!!

Depends on our first half dozen fixture and I bet we will get a tough one and the scum will get piss easy one.

I am confident that we will, for the first in a long time, be greater than the sum of our parts.

However, I expect us to take a while to get going due to the expected turnover of players and players missing much of the summer preparations as they will be resting following the Euros and Copa.

anyone expecting Pep to hit the ground running , may be in for a surprise , he will need a dozen games to get the players and formation correct , but i think we will have a strong 2nd part of the season and still win a couple of cups , long term , we will dominate the premiership for a three to four years , even if the Rags do get Maureen

Least we one have a manager who will show he cares and will be passionate...just hope Pep doesn't kill them in training
