Next seasons home shirt (allegedly)

We'll have to agree to disagree on this point mate. I don't think the kit has anything to do with our identity. That's my personal view and I do understand the opposing viewpoint.

Fair enough, I vote we wear an all red strip next year, with cyan trim... how's that suit you?

The kit IS one of the most important parts of our identity... let's face it, every club sings "come on you blues/reds/whites" etc.

The CFG think so too... otherwise they wouldn't be trying to make all the clubs wear sky blue.

Look back at our kits over the past 30 years. We've had some fucking abortions, they don't affect the "identity" of the club at all. It's just another kit that will change again next season.

To suggest that we will play in maroon as a home kit is a bit daft. We'll always play in a sky blue home kit, just variations upon that theme.

It's all about opinions though I suppose. I just can't get my head around people being so fucked off with navy blue sleeves on a footy kit (OK, OK, and blue shorts!! ;-)).

surely you dont think thats true ? we have always played in blue and white. would you not be bothered if we changed our colours to red ?

You are avoiding the question of where you draw the line on the colours and colour combination of the home kit

I said we always have a variation on the theme of sky blue. We always have and we always will, there isn't a question to answer.

Do you honestly think the club will deviate away from that and have a striped home kit?

Exactly... if you don't give a shit about your kit, this is what happens...

i know you put that, i was replying to this ,"i dont think the kit has anything to do with our identity". Which is just not true

You've ignored part of my original reply by suggesting I wouldn't be arsed if we played in red.

Bit of a contradiction here mate. You're saying the kit doesn't make up our identity, but then you say we always play in sky blue and you wouldn't want us to wear red. So therefore the club's identity to you is a predominantly sky blue then?

To many others, the clubs identity is sky blue and white. More specifically sky blue shirts and white shorts.

I don't really understand how you "can't get your head around it". The clubs identity is important to the vast majority of fans, seemingly including you. It's just about where you draw the line.

The identity of a club is made up of many, many things – the fans are one aspect, but so is the kit.

That's a fair point. I should have sai

Fair enough, you're right. It does have something to do with our identity yes.

My main point, that I stand by is that our home shirt will always be sky blue. The detail will change every season but I'm not bothered by that. Some people are, fair enough. But I'm not.
