Next seasons home shirt (allegedly)

You're older than me? Hahaha... do one twinkle... old enough to be your dad... in fact, what's your mum's name?

As for the kits, yep people did moan about the soundwave kit, you fuckwit – check back if you can be arsed... I wasn't one of them, I didn't mind that kit it was Skyblue and White. The Reebok kits were shite, but had minimal navy blue, which made them look less like Coventry, but were moaned about too – they came before the explosion of social media though.

As for embarrasing, you know what is embarrasing pal... you and your fucking apathy to this subject. Yeah, we all agree that the Sheikh has done wonders for this club, we can never thank him enough... doesn't mean the heritage of the club should be changed... look at Vincent Tan at Cardiff for the prime example.

So yeah, the kit is out there and people will/will not buy it as they want, but this is a thread to discuss the kit – you don't see why? Fair enough, but why be a nob about it, simply say you're not arsed or don't comment at all

So now you gonna compare this kit with what Tan did at Cardiff? Now I'm convinced you too sensetive about the City kit.
My guess is mate that the majority of the City-fans will be wearing the new top. And if you look around you in the stands you will notice how many different City-tops our fans like to wear. Thing is we all reckognize them, know the stories and history behind them and feel proud.

It will look like that on a professional footballer.

Far too many Gok Wans on here worried about how its going to look on their beer bellys and 48 inch chests and sadly, regardless of the make or design or colours, it has always and will always look shit!
If I had a complaint about new shirts it would be that they are too similar to the last one. A 1% change in shade or an adjustment to the design in collar and all an excuse to spend more money. New badge, and slightly different design. Might be a good reason to buy it for once. Especially if it looks as good as it does on Sergio

So you think it looks brilliant on a football player but is still shit because all the fans are fat?

Every season we get a new kit we have months of speculation, fake pictures and protestations of fuck me, thats horrible, Nike are crap etc etc and when we finally get to see the kit in thee flesh, a majority imo suddenly say hang on, its not that bad and within a few weeks its not even a discussion anymore given we get fleeced every 12 months for a kit these days and its never going to be a permanent fixture.

Im 45 mate and overweight and dont buy kits because regardless of the colour or design or maker it just looks shit on me imo so i dont bother.

Kids,Lads n lasses in their teens, 20's and 30's will buy the kit and no doubt like it once they have seen it in the flesh as they want to be seen in the current shirts their favourite players are wearing and manufacturers and designers know this and so does the club.

Goes against the thinking on here but Nike do a lot of research on kits and the fashion aspect of their designs and they know this design seen on many club and international shirts will sell by the bucket load and make them a fortune.

They haven't got to where they are in the sportswear world by churning out nothing but shit.

Lol, I've just realised that I totally misinterpreted your original post bud, carry on.

It's an extreme, merely to highlight the apathy of certain 'fans'. There are posters on here who have state they literally do not care what strip we play in? It's an attitude I haven't seen in fans from any other club! Funny considering how precious most were about the badge... but we get a new badge, and probably the worst City kit ever to put it on!
Club colours, in my 40 odd years as a fan, have always been something to be proud of... i am especially proud of the uniqueness of our kit – no other British team had a kit like ours.
And I agree if you look around the stands fans will be wearing many different tops – but with the exception of the Kappa laser blue kit, I can guarantee they'll all be sky blue/white combinations or away kits – which frankly can be any colour, it's the home that matters.

The other poster, who tried to have a go mentioned age... It seems that it is an issue here, because from what i'm seeing the over 40s seem to be the fans most against this kit... probably because we're old enough to have experienced more of the clubs history, and have had to suffer years of shite... for me, it galvanised my pride in this club and the colours of the club are an important part of that pride in my opinion.

I'm quite sure when you see the kit in real it will look much better.
In the end it's all about how the team performs on the pitch. If we can make Etihad the fortress it was a couple of years ago, I can easily accept that it's not a typical City kit from top to bottom. The players should feel comfortable in it. Last thing we need is that they don't wanna wear it like the darkblue kit of last season.

Not heard about the players not wanting to wear the dark blue kit - I'm nosy can you elaborate?

Because we kept getting bad results wearing the dark blue and good results wearing the lemon one, it was strongly rumoured the players favoured the lemon as in being supersticious or whatever. It was evenmore so highlighted when we played the all white Swansea away in our last game where normally wed've dressed up in the awaykit, not the 3rd.
