Club colours, in my 40 odd years as a fan, have always been something to be proud of... i am especially proud of the uniqueness of our kit – no other British team had a kit like ours.
And I agree if you look around the stands fans will be wearing many different tops – but with the exception of the Kappa laser blue kit, I can guarantee they'll all be sky blue/white combinations or away kits – which frankly can be any colour, it's the home that matters.

The other poster, who tried to have a go mentioned age... It seems that it is an issue here, because from what i'm seeing the over 40s seem to be the fans most against this kit... probably because we're old enough to have experienced more of the clubs history, and have had to suffer years of shite... for me, it galvanised my pride in this club and the colours of the club are an important part of that pride in my opinion.

Still think you are way overreacting on this subject tbh. The ones who know me on here will know I care for the way the team and managers are dressed. It represents the club. Just imagine our manager being dressed as Klopp at Liverpool or Coyle at Blackburn to name a few.
City have varied the homekit many times. Yes, mostly blue/white top with white shorts and let's not mention the variety in socks. Marine has turned up on numerous occasions. In this kit you will still see skyblue and white, with a bit of marine, only differently situated from top to bottom i.e. sky/marine - sky/marine - white/sky. Get used to it like you had to get used by the all blue in the early 80-ies or when another variation turned up. It's not like we changed our club colours. Fans will buy it or they won't for whatever personal reason they have. You will always get fans opposing changes in the new kit. Not neccessarely an age thing. And I will leave it at that. There's a lot more to look foreward to imho.

I get all that, and then I look at the shirt and wonder whether we are talking about the same shirt. Take the badge off, and the sponsors name and it still looks like City to me. The darker shoulder design is new but if you are going to change shirt, then something has to change

Thing is – take a look around this forum... there are people who got way more overheated about the Badge, there are people who are getting annoyed that we dropped 'Football Club' from the badge, and club branding. There are people who get annoyed because they can't get a pint fast enough at half time!
Caring about the club's colours is not a trivial matter – to me it's more important than all the above, and I genuinely cannot see why some are not arsed!
Yes we have had many crap kits and colour combos.. which is the whole point about getting it right now, and going forward... just because we've got it wrong before, does not mean it's ok to get it wrong now!

good enough for me to buy one this year after last years dish rag hideousness!
