Agreed on both counts. If the rags had an American counterpart it would definitely be the cowboys.
Not the actual team that is owned by the same people?

Not even close. The Bucs are a small market team with no recognizable stars, very little national exposure and a fan base almost entirely within their geographic footprint.

Conversely, the Cowboys are in a large city, are endlessly discussed by the media, have a national/international fan base solely based on winning and cultural acceptance. and are despised by all those who aren't Cowboys fans. Sound familiar?

-- Sun Nov 04, 2012 3:53 pm --

Not to mention generally over rated, over exposed players.

The US equivalents of Rags by sport:

Football - Cowboys
Baseball - Yankees
Basketball - Lakers
Hockey - Nobody gives a shit about hockey

Next up for Doug Martin is the No.2 rush defense Chargers. We are actually awesome against the run and have stopped Mcfadden, Charles (twice), Chris Jackson, Mcaghee to name a few. Pity they have VJax to tear our secondary a new one!

VJax is doing a great job for my fantasy guaranteeing me a Touchdown and at least 70 yards every week.

Monday Night Football, must win for us tonight, we have to beat the Eagles and hope we can go on a run to keep any playoff chance alive. It all hopes and fingers crossed but never say never. Our Defence is non existent so tonight will be about outscoring the Eagles and starting well for once, think it'll be a high scoring game, we need to stop the throw.
