Yawn, the usual rugby players don't wear padding remarks rears it's ugly head again. The hits are far more severe in the NFL than in rugby.
You may have a point BT. Then again....

Wouldn't they just be weedy little efforts if it really was a much softer game?

They're bloody huge!

Its so rubbish and looks so easy to play i wouldn't mind playing it myself being a prop in rugby and earn loads of money for doing nowt but smash in to a few guys then having 5 mins to have a little chat and a drink then smash into someone else easy money.;)

It just showa what you know - fook all

I apologise Blue army. just because I disagree with you doesn't mean I should just dish out abuse

no you shouldn't we are all entitled to or own views.Thats my view i watched the whole thing and after playing rugby so many times nfl looks like a walk in the park and being a prop myself not wearing all that gear having broken/sprained toes/fingers, bruised shins and many cuts i stick by it.Just my view.

Super Bowl. But the National Football League calls them the world champions.

Don't they call them the "Worlds Champions"? Just doesn't sound right.

Lets draw a line under this. American football is a shit sport. End of thread.

your opinion is that it's a shit sport. underlining it doesn't make it true. what i just said was fact. learn the difference.

i think it's pretty cool, much more tactical than most sports, and very interesting on many levels. i personally prefer it to rugby. i like all the main US sports actually, i'm loving mlb at the moment too.

in rugby, you're not technically allowed to tackle above the waist? is that correct? in the nfl, you are. i presume that seeing as it's in the rules that you can smack people in the chest, y'know, where all the vital organs are, repeatedly for an hours worth of play, i think it's sensible that they wear padding round those areas, and their brains too.

i know tackles do go flying in during a rugby game, but not repeatedly. am i right in saying that?

Typical English arrogance. 'Football' is by far the biggest game in America, doesn't that tell you something? The hits in American Football are ten times harder than rugby and sometimes done by 4/5 players at once and coming from all angles and heights. It would be fucking ludicrous to not wear padding and helmets. Anyone who thinks it's a soft sport should try checking out the injury lists in the sport, players are regularly out for the season after just one or two games.

Yes it does tell me something.
Most Yanks have learning disabilities to accompany their morbid obesity.

Clueless. Let me guess, the first thing you look for in a foreign country is a place you can have an English breakfast...

Yeah, but when your season is only about 3 or 4 months in length then much less severe injuries can result in being "season ending".

I'm not going to say that American Football is for 'pansies', I'm going to say it's tedious. It's just stop start all the time. It might be highley tactical, but so is Chess and I wouldn't want to spend 3 hours watching a game of that either.

Americans, in the main, don't 'get' soccer so the argument that American Football is the biggest game in America doesn't necessarily mean it's a 'good' sport. They also rave over WWE and NASCAR, and both of those are absolute shite.
