N'Golo Kante

For 20m to replace fernando, this is a no brainer. He will at the very least be our very good squad player. Very quick for a dm and his work rate is phenomenal. We should sell fernando for 10m and get Kante to replace him. Getting him dosen't mean we will not buy another world class cm.

Yes with bells on. Isn't his release clause £19mill something like that? Sell Fernando & throw Kolarov in as well to "sweeten" the deal.

Hence the quotation marks!! To be fair he might be a useless twat but he could potentially do a job as a squad player deployed on the LW whipping balls into Vardy.
He doesn't work hard enough to be a Leiceater player.

If "club sources" have come out and said NO interest, is it because we in the middle of contract talks and dont didnt want anyone to know about it until deal done....OR are we really NOT interested in Kante as M.E.N is reporting?

City club sources confirm there is NO interest in Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante. City after Gundogan, Pogba and possibly Kroos. [MEN]

I never thought we would be interested due to the fact he is a player who relies on athleticism rather than technical excellence. Before Guardiola has always preferred excellent passers like Kroos, Alonso, Xavi etc. Yes Kante is a very good player but not what Pep wants IMO.

Cheers mate.....Normally we dont say anything when reports/rumours come out in the press that we are interested in a player....If the M.E.N report is correct, then I would guess we wanted it to be known that we really dont have any interest......Hopefully txiki working hard to get other deals done...

(MEN) Manchester City will NOT move for N’Golo Kante this summer, with Pep Guardiola still focusing on the targets he’s drawn up with director of football Txiki Begiristain.

Despite reports in France that City were in advanced negotiations over a deal for the Leicester midfielder, club sources say there is ‘no interest’ in the player who was one of the Premier League’s brightest stars this season.

Guardiola plans to bring in at least one midfielder this summer, with Borussia Dortmund’s Ilkay Gundogan expected to be one of the first arrivals.

Begiristain has already held talks with the German international’s agent ahead of a deal worth around £20m.

City are also ready to resurrect their interest in Juventus’ Paul Pogba, while Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos is another target.

Yaya Toure is expected to leave the Etihad at the end of the season, with the futures of Fernando also uncertain.

Guardiola has made no secret of his love of midfielders, memorably claiming once that he would sign a thousand of them if he had the choice.

Fernandinho’s outstanding form this season means it is likely he will remain, while Fabian Delph will hope for an injury-free campaign following his fitness issues since signing from Aston Villa last summer.

Kante has also been linked with Manchester United and Arsenal.
No surprise there :)
