NHS Pay Award, letter to Johnson from my union, please sign if you can

I run a small limited company that transports mainly small aircraft parts, Rolls Royce where we deliver to closes this Friday for two weeks, it's been very quiet, I've "earned" £25 this week which represents a loss off around £80 for fixed expenses, we have all had to make sacrifices, I think the NHS are brilliant but I'm not sure if I can sympathise with their pay structure.
Whilst I feel sorry for you, let’s switch it around, when the private sector is getting loads of profits etc and the nhs sticks to its pay structure, it’s swings and roundabouts. Often have this argument when the private sector is doing really well, we never hear anyone having a go at the public sector, but as soon as the private sector begins to suffer its greedy public sector etc. Typical divide and conquer tactics. The public sector didn’t cause austerity years ago, the greedy private sector did, yet we all had to suffer for it, just as we are getting back on our feet the pandemic hit, and it’s the public sector who have stood up to be counted, if the supermarkets etc want to give their key workers (as they stood up as well) a huge pay rise I’d be all for it, but not a fucking chance, because some twat wants their dividend for doing fuck all.
like I said before there are plenty of jobs going in the NHS right now, you can all apply if it’s so good and you are struggling. This is not a particularly aimed at you @hammocity btw, just pissed off at the attitude of some yet again on here, inflation is currently 2.5% so effectively the nhs has got a 0.6% pay rise!

I take that on board pal, I really do, there a lot of injustice in this world and I would like the lower paid NHS staff to get more of the pay award. I know a couple of Doctors and they are seriously well off, one gets paid a decent wedge on his time off following horses round Haydock Park to attend Jockeys if they have a fall, fair enough for jump racing but he does it on the flat as well where falls are virtually non existent. The other one does private consulting work and for instance charges £100 to clear a taxi driver's health, takes about 5 minutes, ridiculous.

I'm up for everyone earning a decent wage, I'm luck as I only intend to work a couple more years but I'd honestly have no problem doing NHS work if my business doesn't get back on track. I've built it up over 8 years but things are not great at the moment, I employ a mate as well who really needs the money so I'm actually giving him work before myself just to keep him going, not a great time in the aircraft industry, thanks for your post, made me think differently, cheers.

And most, if not all, doctors working outside of the NHS are self employed, and can charge what they like.

All GPs are self employed.
Thought so, hence my comment. We once got a flyer round from our surgery telling us that the GPs ONLY got 20p per day, per patient, per doctor (there were two), implying that they were poorly funded. My wife, a childminder, looked after the son of one of the receptionists, so I asked her how many patients they had. She said around 3500! they only worked a 5 day week, which equates to a mere £182K pa. That was around 15 years ago. The "boy" is now at university.

I don’t know of any GP that works a 5 day week in the NHS.
Most do 2/3 days and the rest is for extremely lucrative private work hammocity has described.

My mate is a GP and whilst he’s obviously paid very well he works fucking hard 5 days a week and long hours. I doubt there are that many workshy people in the NHS.
