I've no axe to grind with NHS workers, but why are they seen as more deserving than others who are earning fuck all in comparison. Who pays for this pay rise?

So from reading this thread is it true that nurses earn less than a tenner an hour? Surely not? I pay bar staff about that and they haven't spent years studying to do the job!!
Unless I've read it wrong then fuck yeah they deserve a pay rise.

no it’s not true, a qualified nurse earns above £10 an hour, I think it was around 11 when I qualified, quite some time ago now.
My current salary works out to around £17.46 per hour.

Is that a bad wage? - No
Does it reflect the level of specialism I work in and the responsibility - No.

It is what it is. I work, I get paid and I’ll be honest I do not think of anything more than that, especially with the generous annual leave entitlement I get.

Many if not most occupational pensions include an employer contribution. Why should public sector pensions be any different?

I run a small limited company that transports mainly small aircraft parts, Rolls Royce where we deliver to closes this Friday for two weeks, it's been very quiet, I've "earned" £25 this week which represents a loss off around £80 for fixed expenses, we have all had to make sacrifices, I think the NHS are brilliant but I'm not sure if I can sympathise with their pay structure.
