Nice nearby towns with pubs/restaurants

Unsure where that is. I drank in The Willowbank on Smithdown Road.

Just looked, and it's still going! 14 Church Road North.
Had a mate whose family lived in Wavertree, went in a lot back in the day. He was a Scouse anomaly, he hated Liverpool and couldn't wait to leave, lol. True to his word he moved to Wiltshire, then Australia and never returned. (Superb pro lead guitarist by the way, played in some big name bands through the years)

 
7 pages in and only 2 people have mentioned Duckingfield.
One who hasn't been since 1980 and one who simply, but bizarrely, only mentions Morrisons.

It would be wrong to say its the land that time forgot as time never knew about it in the first place.
 
went to loads of punk gigs there in the early 80's

Went to most of the gigs there , some cracking nights . Blitz was a great gig there and GBH was mental

which i'd say, out of 66 posts is, in point of fact, a very healthy percentage and may well sway the o.p. in its favour.

think they were from chapel-on-le-frith,
along with violators, who also played at drifters


gbh are still at it, you know.
seen them a couple of times in past few years & they were better than back then
 
thinking back now, other bands i saw at drifters...

crash (from hebden, where there was another really good punk venue - hebden trades club)

Blitz were from Buxton I believe , had a real change of direction which didn’t go down to well with the hardcore following . Ah The Mayflower , did you go to the DK gig . Now that was something else
