Checked the porto forum and apparently they have an option to buy 20% of the sell-on clause from Barcelona for 3 million.

However, this would take some time and it cannot be done if we straight up paid his RC.

If I was involved, I’d offer them 20 million for the kid.. and 80 million for Diogo Costa.

100m package, lowballing for the midfielder but overpaying for the keeper so they get to keep most of the money.

Loan back Costa till the summer.

Everybody wins.

Hmm. From my own observation as I clearly mention in my post. Where do you get your info claiming the opposite? Don't think it's a controversial opinion that our midfield doesn't have enough pace.

Jacob wasn't getting any minutes when we had most of our injuries.

Now with Bernie playing deeper, Stones playing in the middle, there is basically no chance he would have featured.

Nico is also very certainly Pep's new "project" player who can play everywhere and so suited for the Prem, so I think it makes sense to focus on him and move on from Jacob.
 
My knowledge goes no further than I've heard of him. Obviously we need some to rebuild the midfield but has anyone seen much of him to give a good assessment? Hopefully not a short term target and someone viewed good enough to improve us even when Rodri back?

From listening to a friend's observation and watching his youtube highlights he seems more of gundog replacement than a defensive mid.Tall very technically gifted and skillfull.he could make a great long term partner for rodri one sits one creates.certainly looks very promising.

Hope we sign this guy, looks a complete midfielder which we are desperate for. Exciting times to be a blue and would also make the media’s piss boil with all these signings, buying our way out of trouble blah blah blah
 
Not sure if it's already been posted? For what it's worth, according to transfermarkt, his current market value is approx €18m, his highest market value was approx €25m in 2022.

This could very well be play style related, he plays next to a classic ball winner who has a ton of interceptions. Rodri has 0.59 interceptions per game.


Why would you want your DM to have high clearances? A clearance is defined as a long ass forward without a receiver. Rodri has a clearance rate of around 1 per game

Encouraging that we're seemingly addressing the need now as well.

As others have pointed out with the stats.as is shown on here you are clearly wrong.No-one is saying otherwise ref the lack of pace with our current midfield, but I suggest you do your homework before coming out with statements that he relatively has no pace.
 
I don't trust Txiki, Pep , Viana or anyone at the club

But since the majority here rated him ,then I am in
