Another winger with no pace who seems to want to cut inside.

We have too many players who want to come in to central positions.

We want a winger who can actually use raw pace to beat a man and get behind the full-back.

Early days but it looks like we should have found the cash to make sure that the only club he could join was us.

I do believe we'll go for Di Maria in summer if we really want a winger, Mancini clearly likes him as we rivaled Real to try and buy him, and now it sounds like they're willing to listen to offers if the price is right. Plus we're linked with him non-stop in Spain. And he's left-footed so we could have him on one side and Johnson on the other if we ever wanted a Plan B. And even though someone (I forget who) disagreed with me last time I said it, I believe Di Maria is the best winger in Europe at the moment, he is very hard for full-backs to play against and has notched up truckloads of assists (more than Silva even).

Ronaldo is but only if you consider him a winger still, the lines are blurry between winger and wide forward now (ie. Lavezzi too). As for the others, none have had the same impact Di Maria has and while you could easily argue many of them, Hulk and Cazorla are not even close to Di Maria IMO, Cazorla is suffering in an awful Malaga team to see how good he could be in a good team. Before the La Liga argument is thrown at me, Pedro has only 3 assists and 1 goal in 13 games. Di Maria is delivering at the biggest club in the world where many big name players haven't been able to hack it. 13 assists in 14 games with 4 goals to boot. The second best assists man, our own David Silva, has 12 assists in 24 games and 5 goals to boot, so if we're looking for a different sort of goal creator we can do far worse than Di Maria, he'd set up goals and win us countless fouls in dangerous positions. Of course stats don't always tell the story but Di Maria is a handful all the time and just the sort of player we need, though there are good alternatives.

Gaitan is a really special player guys, if he is not snapped up by City he will be somewhere like Real or Bayern you just know it.

He is a player with intelligence and final product, somethingg you can't always say for other "top" players

Well, Benfica have virtually confirmed he will be sold to raise money so let's see if we rival the rags and any others, looks like he'll cost £30million-ish though.
