All the money in the world yet Txiki etc continue to buy terrible players.

Seems a decent guy but can't play in Pep's system.

Watching the game back, he seems to be massively desperate to over-commit, leaving him out of position and wanting for Chelsea's last 2 goals. For the equaliser, he just isn't strong enough and that's piss poor for a supposed hardman.

I loved the lauding over one of his last ditch tackles in the area at 1-1 in the second half.

After he committed himself on the half way line and found himself wanting on yet another occasion. The centre back version of De Jong. He's about Stoke's level.

He's all show. Softer than Kolarov, and that's an insult.

He's all or nothing. He either wins the ball or commits himself and takes himself completely out of the game. That might be ok in a system where you have lots of cover, but in a system where we don't leave many people back it's absolutely suicidal. I'm sure he'll get big cheers when he does lunge in and win the ball, but it's just reckless and makes life impossible for the other defenders when he commits and doesn't get there.

He reminds me so much of Demichelis when he first got here, he was also constantly lunging in on the half way line and taking himself out of the game. But Demichelis learned that that was unnecessarily risky and changed his game, Otamendi shows no signs of doing that.
